Title: Dvd Drives Characteristics When In Wrong System?
Post by: lilhaywood on September 03, 2009, 03:57:00 PM
Okay, so i have a good knowledge of xbox 360 flashing/hacking etc. I used to sell 360's and stopped about 6 months ago. I had a bunch of red ringed xbox's in my attic that i decided i would try to fix and sell. well i have fixed one so far but the thing is, the dvd drives for all of them were either sold or used for my own personal system. i still have 3 though. I stuck one of them in this xbox and it can read movies, not copied games though. So im thinking it might just not be modded. I cant currently mod it though, because my computer is screwed up so im in the process of fixing it. So my question is. If the dvd drive is in a motherboard without the right dvd code would the 360 red ring or not?

Sorry for wall of txt.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

if it is the wrong type of dvd drive then the osig would wrong and may get single red light, if it is the correct type of drive but the incorrect key for that motherboard ,then you will get "please place this disc in xbox360 " message no red lights ,i think thats what you asking

If the drive key was wrong it will still read movies just fine.
