So now you have your xbox apart and your lite on UPSIDE DOWN with the BOTTOM LID OFF you are ready to probe.
1. Make sure your pc and xbox is powered down before you begin.(had pc restart issues)
2. Ground your xbox and pc using the alligator clip ground wire. (radioshack)make sure you clip xbox chassis to pc chassis.
3. Now if you have a sata dvd rom on your pc make sure to disconnect(had pc reset issues)
4. Disconnect the sata cable on your lite on. Now connect the lite-on to the PRIMARY sata plug on your pc motherboard. (i found if i dont do this my pc will reset when attempting to extract key.)
5. Plug in your usb probe and power on your pc and xbox.
6. Eject the lite-on tray(if xbox is laying flat, eject is located at the bottom left far corner of console.)
7. Unplug the power from the back of the lite-on(mark top of power plug with pen. If you plug in your power on your lite on the wrong way you can fry your drive) DO NOT power cycle lite-on by powering down the xbox or by unplugging the xbox power supply.
8. Once powered down, push in tray half way. there is a small circle on the left side of the tray, towards the middle. (NOT the circle diagonally above it on the left towards edge.) Make sure to push in the tray until the circle is not visible.
9. Now plug in the power to the lite-on. Your tray should be halfway out with the power on.
10. Open Jungleflasher 1.66. (did you remember to install porti\o and put ix16-liteon-repack firmware in jungleflasher firmware folder?)
Click on dvdkey32 tab. (make sure no boxes are checked.)
In the I\O PORT drop down list, click on each one until you find your lite-on drive.
It should look something like this.
VENDOR-PLD5.
NAME-DG-16D2S
F\W REV- 7485
RESERVED-000000000000000(20 digit numbers, im sure numbers are different with each drive.)
11. Make sure to select your probe in the com port drop down list. When selected it should look like this in the COM PORT PROPERTIES
PORT-COM3
TYPE-USB
NAME-CA-32(this is the name of the probe i bought from the link above)
STATUS-READY
12. Now its time to probe R707. if you dont know where this is, here is a link to find out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFOcjcGGsXs...player_embedded.
13. Set your probe into the hole and hold it steady. Now click on the dvdkey32 button(not tab duh) to extract key. if successful it should read you your key six times.
14. Save your keys somewhere safe. (i saved mine in the firmware folder in jungleflasher)
15. You will now get a pop up message stating. "lite on firmware loaded to source buffer! do you wish to auto load lite on ixtreme?" click yes
16. Click on FIRMWARE TOOLS 32 tab.
If your firmware did not load automatically then click on open target firmware to find and select it manually.
17. Now you should see your original dvdkey under SOURCE and another different dvd key under TARGET. If you do not see your original key under SOURCE, you did something wrong. in this case just close out jungleflasher and start over. (you do not need to power cycle again, just extract key using probe.)
18. Click on SPOOF SOURCE TO TARGET button. now your ready to erase your lite-on fw!
19. Click on MTK FLASH 32 TAB.
20. Under 360 tools click on lite-on erase.
21. You will receive a couple of pop up windows. the first stating. ARE YOU 100% SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT DRIVE KEY? THE COMMAND WILL COMPLETELY ERASE YOUR DRIVE FW. DO YOU WISH TO PROCEED. click yes.
22. The next part is tricky and if not done correctly you can BRICK your lite-on. PULL OUT THE POWER OF YOUR LITE-ON SLIGHTLY. you need to be able to unplug it an plug it back in very very quickly. The power is a tight fit and quite hard to unplug. It needs to be loose.
23. You will get another pop up window stating. when erase is complete vendor intro will be sent power drive off then on in quick recession ONCE! drive should return status dx72 and a good device id. do you wish to proceed. Once your lite on power is loose and ready to be plug\unplugged, click yes. when you get the message serial found with 0x72 then its time to flash your lite-on.
24. Click on WRITE button and booyah. when you see WRITE VERIFIED OK! you have successfully flashed your xbox 360.
I hope This helps better than most of the vague tutorials out there.

I have just bought a new 360 with this drive in. I dont have the USB extractor yet but will get one soon. Just reading the guide and im confused on step 22-23. At which point do u pull the power and quickly plug it back in ?
