Title: Drive Swap On Banned 360... Any Drive Will Work?

So I have a bricked Hitachi 47DJ that was bricked when running restore to upgrade from iXtreme 1.2 (I know old fw).

I have the key and original fw image from the 1.2 flash back in Jul 2007, so can I just simply buy a DVD drive off eBay and inject the key into whatever fw I choose and update the new drive?

You will also have to spoof the drive so it thinks its a Hitachi 47DJ.
