I just stumbled onto a program that is out for windows that alows you to display the contents on one computers screen to a laptops screen using a network connection. Imagine going on trip only to find out the place you are going doesn't have a TV. You brought your Xbox with you thinking you would finally get to beat Ninja Gaiden for a third time. The only semblance of a TV around is the laptop you brought with you. Don't worry, you just saved the day by running your new copy of Maxivista for the xbox, and now you can continue play on the laptop monitor.

Does anyone have the skills to do a conversion of this program?

There are multiple things in the way of this.

Have you tried running a 3d game over your network connection?  The 3d acceleration redraws the screen way way WAY too fast for your network connection to handle.

Also, as far as I know when a xbox game is running it is the only thing in memory (other than the bios), so there is not much room for polling the screen and writing to a tcp-ip stream.

BTW, my remote control program of choice is VNC.  www.realvnc.com

just buy a tv in card..
but then again, why not just pickup one of those small lcd screens that hook up to you playstation/xbox..

the software you speak of won't do what you want..

I use a tv card with my linux server so i can play my xbox and watch tv at the same time :-p
I can do both its weird, bugs most ppl.
Well any ways, if its a laptop you cant run a tv card most laptops dont have pci :-p
You well need to buy a usb capture device, I have one called "lifeview tv" or somthing like that well any ways its usb 1.0. It has a OK picture and it was $50 about 4 years ago when I got it. :popcorn:

 exactly. Just get one of those small little lcd TV, they are relatively cheap. In fact, it would be a good 'console'(when needed) for those headless Xbox.

 Yeah, you certainly don't see a lot of laptops with PCI expansion slots...

Thanks guys. The little Lcd's are just to small for me. I guess I will have to fight someone for the TV when our ship gets underway.

in the Navy?....I just got out 2 years ago.....i suggest you get one of those little screens cause people aren't gonna sit and watch you play games....just my opinion.....
