iXtreme 1.6 0800 firmware BenQ, LiteOn, Samsung Team HyperX
Posted by Iriez | May 29 22:15 EST | News Category: Xbox360

A 0800 (ripping version) of the 1.6 series has been released to the BenQ, LiteOn and Toshiba Samsung drives. As usual Hitachi will be last to follow (if at all supported for 0800 mode)
Features:
-Common API designed for easier application use!
-Support for SS V2!
-Direct 0800 mode for game dumping including SS v2!

This firmware is =NOT FOR USE IN A CONSOLE= and is provided
with the intended use of being in a dedicated "ripping" drive.

 This means:
    a. Does not need your DVD key,
   b. Does not need spoofing as another drive,
    c. Does not need to use the tray half open and
   d. Does not need to use the activate.iso to use this firmware on the pc.

More Info

SS v2 supports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7, storing them in the SS. This is a pre-requisite for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.

i assume this CAN be used like how the old 0800 (xtrm0800.bin for Samsung) could be used?

like if you got ixtreme v1.6 you can reflash the BenQ/Samsung/Liteon to this firmware , then use it to copy original game disc data to PC using newest XBC , then reflash back to ix16 right?

You could by why? All ix16 firmwares can rip. the 0800 firmware is for people who keep a drive attached to their pc.  If you want to rip a disc using a xb360 drive and you don't have a spare then use the regular ix16 and power it up with tray half open and boot into windows.

So I'll say this again, all currently released ix16 firmware can be used for ripping, the regular and the 0800 ones.

that's what i was thinking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

p.s. i just think it's easier in a way to reflash vs that half drive tray ejection crap since you gotta pull the power plug to get it half ejected etc if your using ix16.

but thanks for your time.

I flashed a ms-25 with this firmware. Now how do I get xbox backup creator to recognize it.  Do I leave port i/o installed? Do I use the via drivers? Do I leave the ms-25 in vendor mode?

All I can do is get jungle flasher to recognize it and flash it.. thats it.. xbc 2.9 never sees drive

Any help would be appreciated

flashed an old drive that had the old 0800 fw on it and now its not detected in the new xbc. When i check it in fw toolbox hows up the same as the standard sammy ixtreme 1.6. Says it is (iXTREME 1.6 12x-F) any ideas guys
btw. i tried using iprep and the new 360 Modification USB Drive v1.6 by just renaming it where the standard ixtreme 1.6 was then flashing, it didnt work

But if your flashing your suppose to do the half tray power thing anyway. Why would you want to open your console every time that you want to back-up a game.

seeing as this is the first firmware to be able to rip new v2 ss, do we anticipate that the kreon drives will also be able to do this in the future?  Or, should we plan on using only or 360 (or extra drive) with xbc.

*** NOTE ***
This build of XBC does not support older Xtreme ripping firmwares
(Kreon drives are still supported though). Stealth Checking verbiage/intent removed, XBC only does limited checking. Use abgx360(info)(info) at http://abgx360.net for more thorough Stealth Checking

I am pretty sure that with the new Xbox Backup Creator the Kreon drive can rip this new data without a firmware update being needed.

I flashed this 0800 to an extra sammy I had w/ my via card using JF. Then I had to connect the sammy to on board sata and reboot for pc to recognize it. Then I ripped Mass Effect  with the sammy, took about 45 minutes. Then burned it with my pioneer drive. Worked flawlessly!!! Thanks for upgrading XBC to 2.9 and the 0800 firmware.

If you have a Ck (use it to power) and use a sata to usb wire. (no need to open pc case). Also it won't have trouble with the via drivers being there or not. That's the way I connect it now.
