Title: Lite-on Drive, Ixtreme 1.6 And Lite-on-erase
Post by: Bravo1 on May 19, 2009, 11:05:00 AM
I have a Lite-On Drive that is running ixtreme 1.51 and want to upgrade to 1.6.  However, I don't have a Connectivity Kit to perform the power on/off quickly.

Would it make sense that I could just run the Lite-On-Erase command from DOS and update the firmware that way?

Or should I just get/make a connectivity kit for future upgrades as well?

Thanks!

Since you have 1.51 installed you don't need the probe to get the drive key and dump files.

You can power cycle the drive using the 360 power supply.

Thanks for the reply.

Correct, got the drive key so don't need to dump the firmware.   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

So just pushing the power button on the 360 instead of yanking the power plug from the drive is recommended?

I flash mine in DosFlash, using the xbox power supply without problems... I put the files ( key and the other files ) in the main directory, erase and write and gives me no error!

Just one question, in the next firmwares, can i use the same way ?

Just performed the upgrade by powercycling the 360.  All is well.   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
