What would be the best method for this?
I'm not exactly sure, I was trying to connect it to my pc through the old Blaster360, and then I smelled something burning and now its done
Sounds like you toasted it.
You are going to have to remove the tsop (not an easy thing to do) and buy an external programmer to extract the firmware and drive key (hope it is still intact).
There is nothing else you can really do if you don't have a backup of the drive key anywhere.

And what part of the board is the tsop? I have an external programmer already
If you have an external programmer then you should already know what part of the board it is.
