You can't. You need the probe for the CK3 Kit. The spear is for the Extractor only.
Not true. I just did it. LEDs and all work.
The 'probe' is connected to the 5-pin header on the xtractor.
From top to bottom these pins are:
+5v pin 8 on the DVD power connecter R5
Tx -> connected to pin 2 of the DVD power connector R4
+3.3v pin 6 on the DVD power connecter R3
Rx -> connected to pin 1 of the DVD power connector R2
Gnd pin 11 on the DVD power connecter R1
