Title: Samsung Ts-h943 Ms28 Problem
Post by: mrsparks101 on March 31, 2009, 06:38:00 PM
Ok, so I am flashing an older xbox 360 with a Sam TS-H943 MS28 drive. I have flashed 2 benq/liteon drives successfully with my desktop computer so I know my mother board works with flashing. I am using Iprep V008 pro to create a bootable flash drive. The firmware I am using is the Samsung Ixtreme 1.4. I get through all the steps in flashing, and am using the tutorial "How to flash a Samsung MS28 with Nforce Sata Chipset without soldering" from the tutorials section. After I get it flashed it won't read anything, it just displays the message "please play this disk in an xbox 360 console" I am able to put the original firmware back on to restore the xbox to its original state but I am stuck, can any one help?

btw I have done some searching and couldn't find anything to help, but if I missed something let me know.

Did you copy your key into the new hacked firmware?

Firmtool can do it at the command prompt or i often just use maximus toolbox.

Firmtool is probably the best way.

You just copy the original or even the old hacked as long as it has the key into a folder and put the new ix151 in the same folder and at the command prompt just type

FIRMTOOL OLD.BIN HACKED.BIN

in the above example firmtool would copy both the key and even spoof the drive version from the file named old.bin to hacked.bin. You can of course name the files whatever you want.

Then flash it with the hacked.bin file and your all done.

Ok, I tried what you said, and when I executed firmtool on my desktop which has vista with both the new firmware and original firmware in the folder, the command prompt opens for a brief second then closes. When I do this on my laptop which is running xp, it comes up with an error saying in the command prompt that ix14.bin does not exist program aborted press any key to continue. I know I am doing something wrong, just can't figure out what.
Thanks
