Title: Lite On Spoof Samsung Upgrade Ix1.51 Question

So i had my liteon spoofed as a samsung ms28 running ix1.4.

I've read it says its best to restore to original fw before upgrading.
Is there anyway to head this warning in my situation?
or do i just go ahead and take the original lite on fw and update to 1.51 then spoof to ms28 and update fw on sammy?

After reading your message i am not certain if you currently have a sammy or a lite-on. Its sounds like you have a sammy.
The good news is that my answer is the same, Both drive types can be erased and flashed to the new firmware. On lite-on its not even possible to put original firmware on it.

Really only Hitachi's require you to go to original and then upgrade.


Make sure you have a copy of your key before erasing anything!!!

If you want some starter help, you can use my post as a reference. I just spoofed my ms28 as a Liteon... It works great!
