Title: Wondering If My Hitachi 78 Is Properly Flashed To 1.51
Post by: Viro on March 16, 2009, 09:21:00 PM
Hello,
I've been having ALOT of trouble getting Jungle Flasher to work with my Hitachi (And all other drives for that matter, kept giving me exception errors and wouldn't see the drive, I also tried the tutorial) so I decided to flash in Firmware Toolbox.

When I was at the part where I select the speed I want for my drive, I noticed that it had 1.4 next to it. I flashed it with the 12x setting and the backups work fine, but my concern is did I flash it right to 1.51 even though there was that option that said 14 (which i'm assuming is the 1.4 firmware).

Did I make a bad 1.51 flash from using Firmware Toolbox to make it?

WTF  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)
if you selected a 1.4 12x speed why would you even think its been flashed with 1.51 firmware
1.51 firware only comes with one speed 12x and thats for all drives

I assumed it was flashed to 1.51 because I used the 1.51 firmware file instead of the 1.4 file. But that's why I'm asking is because I was guessing that it was just giving me the option of the speed.

The backups run fine on my system after the flash, but I was just trying to figure out if I had the 1.51 on there.

I figured that as long as I used the 1.51 firmware, it would stay true to the file and install those contents. Maybe i'm wrong though as Firmware Toolbox only has the 1.4 when selecting speeds?

But why would it install the 1.4 file if I have the 1.51 opened? that's what's confusing me.
