This is an issue due to switching off the power (10 second trick) and when you switch it back on again the 360's psu seems to cause issues.

dosflash32 runs in a windows gui. You run it with your sammy powered up and if it finds it, it tells you to power it off and on and then you try and read it.

ok i just tried dosflash32 1.4 and it will not work either. any ideas. thanks again

just wanted to add that in jungleflasher when i get it unlocked using sammy unlock command. the green light on the 360 starts to flash. but i still get invalid status. this is really driving me crazy. i flashed my brothers drive a couple of months ago, and had to replace a broke hitachi with a m28 and did not have this much trouble i really don' t understand what i am doing wrong. any more ideas

They are up to version 1.7 now.

I use it with the via6421 with the drivers for the via not installed. I do have port i/o installed as i belive it is required.

What program are you using to open the firmware and view the key?

If everything else seems good i.e. the firmware reports as samsung and the version is ok then it would seem your key is lost.

I am going to pm you my email address so i can view your firmware dump and see what i think

KarakotX,
To uninstall the VIA drivers properly, check out the JungleFlasher_Tutorial.pdf down in the Appendix. Page 62.

I have been emailing Karakotx back and forth.

Basically he doesn't know how but he has flashed a original.bin with 000000000000000000000000000 for the key.

He didn't save the jungle flasher log files.

This wasn't his xbox

He is probably having a stiff drink right now or rolling a big fat one.

I tried my best to help him but it looks like there is no hope for this one.

If the drive is functioning properly and the firmware on it is a modified firmware, there is an alternative to doing the 10 second trick. Look for and download an image file for the "0800 enable disc", it's only 2MB zipped but expands to be a lot bigger, burn it on a DVDR-DL disc.

When u want to read or flash your drive, power it on, then insert the 0800 disc, it will spin up and the firmware will be accessible for read and write, no need to power cycle or anything. After u power up and insert the disc, just start dosflash32 or jungleflasher and you will be able to read and write, hassle free.

That's what I do with my ms28 and it works every time, but it does not work on stock firmware, only if you already have a modded firmware and you're upgrading.

Not true. I just got done updating my M28 from 1.4 to 1.51 15 minutes ago using JungleFlasher w/o having to burn that 0800 disc.

Just wanted to give an update. somehow jungle flasher erased my firmware instead of reading it, so i have lost my key. and the really good part is that it is not my 360 but a friends so now i have to buy him a new one.

does anybody know of a way to get the key off the motherboard or know of anyone who can do it. thanks for all your help.
