Title: Think I Killed A Lite On
Post by: 360newb22 on February 03, 2020, 10:48:00 AM
I have done many Lite ons with iXtreme 1.4, switching the drives, but last night I tried to do one with 1.5 w/o swapping the drive.  I have the initial release of iXtreme 1.5 and JungleFlasher, and went to flash it according to the directions provided with the firmware.  I have a VIA 6421A based card and 360 Xtractor.  When I went to erase it, it gave me an error that it failed and I believe it said that it was in an invalid state.  I should have saved the log :-(.

I did not reset the drive after extracting the key, so it might have been in a busy state.  Anyhow, after that the drive seems to be completely dead.  It wont eject or anything and gives the flashing busy light when in the console.  I cant access it in Windows either.  It actually locks windows up when I have it connected.  I was able to extract the keys and such, and in the meantime I am going to spoof it on a BenQ with 1.4, but does anyone know if there is anything I can do to salvage this?  I am guessing not, but if there is any bad flash recovery method that would be awesome.  Thanks in advance.

On all forums you should read the stickies before posting anything. If you had done this you would notice the very first one...

Bricked LiteOn? Read here first before posting.

Your liteon is not damaged.  It can be fixed in dos using dosflash.  Search around there are several post on how to fix this problem.

Go watch this video, http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?d...391525807200902, it will help you recover your bad flash/erase. Just for future reference dont use Jungle Flasher with a via card to flash a lite on. I only use Jungle Flasher to extract the key and create the CFW. After that boot into dos with dosflash and away you go. Enjoy.
