just to clear off, i have just hooked up the drive to the pc with a sata cable, and power the drive through the 360 console power supply.

That key is most definitely not a good key, so don't continue.
What setup are you using to extract it?

try changing your com port / checking that it is correct in the top right of jungle flasher

with serial connection, you mean the sata connection? or the connection to the COM1 port? because, like i said in my first post.. i only have a sata connection..
and if that cable is the problem what can i do to solve it? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
great thanks

there is only one com port in jungle flasher.. only com 1

like i said in the start, i only have it hooked up with a red sata cable to my pc, is that good enough?
or do you need another serial cable to connect to that specific com port?
thanks
what do you mean by setup?
it's an intel core 2 quad cpu .. with an asus psk-premium mobo
it's running windows xp sp3

Please note that at this time, IXtreme 1.5 still requires the utilization of a RS232 to TTL serial hardware, or a popular variant such as CK3 with Probe or Maximus Xtractor. This is necessary to extract the key/inquiry/identify .bin files. These files are neccessary for spoofing & gathering your key, even if you are just flashing the 1.5 IXtreme to a LiteOn drive. They contain serial information that is required for proper identification and security related issues. Note that spoofing to previous versions of IXtreme are NOT stealth, and is not supported.

your getting that reading because you have nothing connected to your pc's serial port..

I'm having the same issue with Jungleflasher returning a bad key.  I have a serial port and have created the serial adapter TWICE, to verify that the original adapter isn't bad.  I've got the 360 connected to my Via vt6421, uninstalled the drivers and installed PortIO32 successfully.  Jungleflasher is able to see my serial adapter and can see my lite on drive, but when connecting the probe to the r707 port, key is still unable to be read.

I tried this method on two computers, one with a usb to serial adapter and one with on board serial.  No success on either read.  I've also removed pin 3 and ejected the drive half way as everyone else said to do.

What should I do from here?

I was having this issue, but followed KingDragon's guide in the link below to set the drive up for reading, and it worked for me first time.

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48236

I then used Jungleflasher to create the FW, then L-O-ERAS and DOSFLASH to write the FW in DOS (as JF just doesn't work for me when flashing the drive for some reason)

just getting 0000...'s also. tried 2 different pc's with the via 6421 card. I am using the ck3 pro kit with probe. I can see my drive in jungleflasher and the usb cable is connected. I tried KingDragon's method but no luck for me. hopefully you can get it working so I can copy you  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I have the CK3 probe and kit to read.. following there instructions did'nt work for me, just a slight adjustment and it works everytime.

So when you eject the drive halfway and try to read you get 0000000000 or cccccccccccc. After you have ejected the drive, turn the CK3 OFF and back on again, the drive will stay half way out as you left it. Then try read the key, works for me everytime!

Team Xecuter begs to differ, here's a quote from their ck3 site:

TROUBLESHOOTING NOTE:

If your drive key is 000000000 = Your tray is not half way correctly (probably too much in or you didn't press eject on the CK3 and push the tray half way in manually) (See Image 3)

If your drive key is CCCCCCCC = You need to power cycle the CK3 (Turn power off, unplug SATA cable from DVD, plug SATA cable back in, turn CK3 power ON), or you have not connected the TX point correctly with the CK3 Probe (or not soldered correctly if you do not have the Probe)

Well, Team Xecuter is probably wrong.

000000 doesn't necessarily mean that the tray isn't half way closed. First time I flashed a Lite-On with JungleFlasher I did this:

I powered on the drive, ejected it, pushed the tray half way, then tried to read the key. That gave me a lot of 0000's.

What I forgot was to power of and then on the drive in-between the pushing.

When I instead powered on the drive, ejected it, powered it off, pushed it half way, powered it on, then tried to read the key - I got the correct key just fine. It has worked ever since.

So, a lot of 00000's doesn't necessarily mean that the tray isn't half way closed. It could also mean that you forgot to power of the drive in-between the pushing.

Either Team Xecuter is wrong, or they just didn't know this when writing that tutorial. Also, it doesn't say anything about the need to power of the drive before pushing the tray half way, even though it is necessarily (at least on my setup).

Just to put in my two cents...

I had the exact same problem trying to get the key from my Liteon with a CK3 lite.  I always got the profile.bin and identity.bin files just fine but get a 00000000000000 BAD KEY with both jungleflasher and doskey32 on COM1.  I know that I was halfway closing the tray correctly, and that I soldered the r707 points correctly on the drive.  I read somewhere that the sata cable will only get you the profile and identity files, but the key can ONLY be retrieved using the serial (or usb) cable.  I didn't know how to test my serial port, since I'm not that good with computers, so I finally bought a PCI serial adapter (you know the ones that give you extra serial ports) which gave me an extra COM3 and COM5.  I connected the serial from COM5 to the ck3 lite and it worked and gave me the key the first time I tried, both in dvdkey32 and jungleflasher!
I hope this helps somebody out.
