Hitachi 1.5 is set to be released shortly. Hold onto your pants Hitachi owners! Release will be in early january. =)

There is ALOT of new information to digest, in regards to this entire project, and the utilization of the LiteOn IXtreme firmware. With this release, also includes a new FirmTool (version 1.3), a beta version of JungleFlasher, which is a new GUI based all-in-one flash that includes a firmware tool, DVDKEY32 0.7, MTK flashing and Hitachi support. Please note that this software IS BETA and will not function 100%. Yes, there will be plenty of bugs :) JungleFlasher logs all errors/actions and will ask you to save a log upon exit. If you have a error please help us improve the software by emailing the log file to JungleFlasher - at - gmail - com. At this moment, we have had quirky issues in regards to VIA chipsets and flashing/reading/erasing the LiteOn drive. Please pay attention to the 2nd prompt in particular after hitting the Lite-On-Erase button. Power cycling the drive at the correct time is very important for VIA users. If the VIA polls the drive after erase, it WILL freeze/lock your computer. Tools for DOS erase/flash/key/spoof are included in this release for any users having difficulties within windows.
JungleFlasher REQUIREMENTS:
-PortIO32.exe - you MUST run this exe to install PortIO onto your system! (included in release)if you have issues installing in vista please reference here:here
If you have a x64 system PortIO is not currently supported. Please use a x32 system to modify your drive.

-.NET 2.0 or above

Please note that at this time, IXtreme 1.5 still requires the utilization of a RS232 to TTL serial hardware, or a popular variant such as CK3 with Probe or Maximus Xtractor. This is necessary to extract the key/inquiry/identify .bin files. These files are neccessary for spoofing & gathering your key, even if you are just flashing the 1.5 IXtreme to a LiteOn drive. They contain serial information that is required for proper identification and security related issues. Note that spoofing to previous versions of IXtreme are NOT stealth, and is not supported.

If you have a CK3 please refer to this tutorial for dvdkey extraction:here

If you have a Maximus Xtractor please refer to this tutorial for dvdkey extraction:here

We have compiled a tutorial on flashing the Liteon drive prior to the release of JungleFlasher. Tutorial is located here:here

Instructions on flashing a LiteOn with JungleFlasher are as follows:
1: Hookup LiteON to sata port and power drive
2: In JungleFlasher select MTK Flash 32 Tab.
3: Select correct port (see above tutorials for figuring out the correct port)
4: Hit Lite-On-Erase button. NOTE - This is done AFTER you have already successfully transferred your inquiry.bin / identify.bin / key.bin files!!! Please read the Prompts VERY carefully! It is important to power cycle the drive at the correct moment to prevent your computer from freezing with VIA cards.
5: After power cycle, drive should return status 0x72 and display Flash information. If it does not, click Device ID and power cycle as prompted. If still not successful then you did not successfully erase the drive.
6: Once Flash information is displayed, you are ready to write! Go to firmware tool 32 tab and select "Load from dump files" and select your key/inquiry/identify .bin files. Then select ix15-liteon.bin after pressing "Open Target Firmware". Press "Spoof Source To Target". Then "Save to File" and save your CFW.bin.
7: Go back to MTK Flash 32 tab and select Write. It should automatically take the liteon firmware you loaded in the Firmware 32 tab and flash to the drive. It will automatically verify flash. If verified your done :)

If write verification fails, then there is likely a issue with JungleFlasher and your sata chipset. Please use DosFlash(info)(info) to flash the drive with the CFW.bin with the correct spoofed information. If the drive is successfully erased, dosflash will see the flash information and will be capable of writing!

DOS Instructions:
You will need to have your key.bin/inquiry.bin/identify.bin handy using the windows applications! If this is the case, please use firmtool 1.3 or JungleFlasher to prepare your ix15-liteon.bin with the correct dvdkey and spoofed serial information(inquiry/identify). At this moment, DOS based dvdkey/inquiry/identify extraction is not fully supported by TEAM JUNGLE. There is DOS based instructions for the CK3 by xecuter in the tutorial above.
1: Run L-O-Eras.EXE with the correct port specified (see tutorial above for Lite-On-Erase.exe information)
2: Run DosFlash.exe
3: Select correct number that represents your sata port / LiteOn drive. Note that the drive has to be successfully erased in order for DosFlash to see the drive!
4: Select write, and choose your liteon firmare .bin that you have prepared with your dvdkey / correctly spoofed identify / inquiry data!
5: Write, plug in drive and play xbox :)

A new DosFlash will be released very shortly that will include LiteOn DVDKey extraction and dummy.bin capabilities. Note that firmtool uses dummy.bin to correctly spoof information from dumped key/inquiry/identify into other 1.5 firmwares. At this moment JungleFlasher and DVDKey32 support the dummy.bin feature!

Please note that if you have a x64 system, there is not a currently known way to install PortIO to your system! If anyone knows a work-around please feel free to PM me and I will investigate.'

In regards to the above, bigbugga7373 PM'd me and said....

BIG thanks to all involved - even the coffee guy!

Can't seem to change JungleFlasher to my SATA port "EFF0" - Any ideas?

You have not correctly installed PortIO32.

So awesome, will try this in couple hours. Is there any way i can make donation for such awesome team?

JungleFlasher will be released with a banner for donations. This was intented, but the rush to get this to everyone prevented it. Future versions will have it.

Very nice job Team Jungle!

We just need an updated tutorial for newbies like me looking to update his BenQ drive - The old 360mods tutorial have been rendered null and void by various changes apparently.

Yes, im sure someone will update the tutorials to include JungleFlasher. However this is ixtreme like any other ixtreme. You can flash with DosFlash16 or DosFlash32!

QUOTE(paul543 @ Dec 23 2008, 05:14 AM) View Post

is there going to be a new Dos Version of DVDKey? There is a new version for windows and it seems that the current DVDKey dos version doesn't create the dummy.bin file.

Not yet. Soon smile.gif

Great stuff smile.gif

What's the best way to update a BENQ with 1.5? Should I be using this new Jungle Tool, or wait for definitions to be updated for the iPrep method?

New definitions are out! Get them here: Download: Updated iPrep Definitions:...1.5-ixtreme.rar

No good.  I just tried to erase my firmware computer froze on me.  After reboot liteon drive will not respond.  I think its bricked.  I was using a via chipset.  I hope you guys can help me out.

Manually uninstalling the VIA then deleting the drivers yourself (system32/vmraid.sys) so that windows does not automatically install the card will fix your freezing problems. However, this WILL cause windows to flip out and tell you that you have new hardware every damn boot and 3 seconds tongue.gif The VIA drivers constantly poll the drive, and this is a issue, especially with erased liteon drives.

The liteon is VERY difficult to brick. As long as you dont flash some stupid shit, you can always fix it. It is normal for the drive to not eject after erase!!!

QUOTE(bissmo @ Dec 23 2008, 05:47 AM) View Post

ive got the same problem started erase got 0x72 so i switched it off and on like it says and now its just freazing up on me does this mean its been wiped ..should i just try dos for the flash.... and im using via 6421 card

also the drive will not eject

Yes, try dosflash or the msg above to get it working in windows.

QUOTE(--NZ MODZ-- @ Dec 23 2008, 05:58 AM) View Post

Wicked - I have tried it out and it works a treat, at least at getting the Lite On key - I have been trying all day to get a valid key using the ck3tool_v1.2.4 but kept getting CCCCCC's - then first time using Team Jungle - JungleFlasher I got a valid key!!! Stoked I checked Xbox-scene before bed smile.gif Thanks for the effort put into this tool and the firmware, much appreciated.

My first attempt wasn't quite 100% successful as I did not know how long to wait before power cycling the drive during the Lite On Erase - and now the drive seems munted, cant eject and not being recognised - so I need to find out whether or not it is salvageable - if I undo the solder connections will it still work? I havent tested it yet. At least I have the valid key, identify and inquiry strings I can flash onto another drive if I have to, but it would be good to get a hacked firmware on the Lite On finally.

Just like the Hitachi 78FK/FL - Took a long time but we got there.

Now lets get these drives to report discs present so we can play games from just the hard drive.

Can anyone offer any help regarding my now non-responding Lite-On? I am using the Xecuter CK3 Pro and USB - no RS232 cable. Have successfully read off keys etc but unable to erase and flash.

Glad to hear the success smile.gif The CK3 is not required for flashing. ALSO....xecuter is using dvdkey 0.6. USE THE 0.7 VERSION FOR KEY EXTRACTION!! Just power and sata. It sounds like you are having issues getting your liteon hooked up, and in the correct mode (half tray open) and seeing it on the correct sata port, with PortIO32 installed.

First of all let me just say kudos for achieving what they said could not be done.  You guysa are seriously skilled ph34r.gif

My 360 is rocking a BENQ on ix1.4 spoofed as a liteon in my 360Elite... as Im sure many lite-on users have also.

Will peeps who have replaced their lite on drives be upgrading to 1.5? If so, will it be best to continue to use the spoofed BENQ drive & flash it to this new 1.5 fw or can we go back to our lite-on drives? Is there a "better" one to use? Any advantages/disadvantages to going back to liteon or sticking with BENQ>?

Thanks again guys, this is gonna make my flashed-console-wanting, lite-on-owning friends very very happy this xmas! cool.gif

YES. Updated to 1.5 ABSOLUTELY. Previous versions of ANY firmware are NOT compatible with spoofing from LiteOn. There is extra security features in 1.5 that relates to cross drive spoofing for liteon that is a MUST.

I just got done installing and I must say that Liteon pwns.  Had a little troube with the team jungle app after the erase because of the VIA card but I reverted to the DOS method and it worked like a champ.  It literally took me 45 seconds to complete the job once I made the firmware.  Thanks again and big ups to all involved.

Ok, I second the question about what is the best way to flash a benq drive right now?

Can anyone explain to me what the bad angle thing is? Does that mean better chance at reading security sectors and stuff that might not have burned well?

Please forgive my ignorance in this subject.

I'm very glad this came out when it did. I just took my box apart yesterday so I can paint it and I might flash my benq.

DId two lite ones with Windows and had no problem ..

went to do 3rd and fourth ... and it frooze the pc after erase ...

Looked like all hope was gone then i went back to good old dosflash ..

AND ALL IS WELL !!

I recommend that everyone use dosflash since it wont lock up the pc.

Windows is freezing cause the Drive no longer has firmware when it locks up mid erase .

Hope this helps

and once again merry xmas all !

Always best to use same drive if possible... Cross spoofing is alway more ricky than as straight flash

For benq, you should move to 1.5 if you can.... there are several imporvements in there...

Before i attempt the flashing of my lite on, can someone just confirm that my key.bin, enquiry.bin and identify.bin should only be 1k in size.   When i retreived these files the key looked legit and everything went smoothly.  Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I have a little question
I already have a liteon's KEY.bin,INQUIRY.bin and IDENTIFY.bin but i don't have a dummy.bin
Do i have to repeat the procedure or there is a way to insert my key in hacked firmware without dummy??

Thanks and marry christmas

No, when you load KEY.bin,INQUIRY.bin and IDENTIFY.bin in jungle flasher, window will popup and ask where to save dummy.bin

I am on step #6 of the Lite-On flash tutorial, and whenever I select my key\inquiry\identify .bin files, jungleflasher says "Can't Open file <path>"

It even says that when I try to load the ixtreme firmware with "Open Target Firmware"

What am I missing? I'm on Vista32.

Edit: I've also tried to use FIRMTOOL, but it's asking for orig.bin to be 256k in size, when I don't have that (I have the 3, 1KB files that a Lite-On should have).

So I'm still stuck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Question: For iXtreme 1.4 users, are the added benefits for iXtreme 1.5 significant for an upgrade?

Is there anything glaringly bad in the 1.4 firmware compared to the 1.5 firmware in terms of the C/R timings?

I finally got it.  This is for anyone that is haveing problems with windows.  You need to use dosflash.  If you already erased your Lite on drive in windows with JungleFlasher .26 BETA and windows freezes on you you are ok.  Just finish with dosflash.  Create a bootable usb drive with the link  http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm.  After you finished copy over your hacked firmware and boot into dos.  Run dosflash and select your port.  Then select write and hacked.bin  I hope this helps anyone that is haveing problems.  If you have any ?'s just pm me.

This isn't working for me. I type 'dosflash', and then it tries to find which port it's on. Port 2 has MTK Vendor Intro failed on Port 0xb400. 0xb400 is what I used in Windows to get the key, so I'm fairly positive that's the correct port.

After selecting 2, it asks me what I want to do. I pick "W" and it then says "Unknown flash chip!"

What am I doing wrong now?

I have similar problem.Ive used the option liteone erase and then it start doing something but after my computer froze so i think flash chip its not erased in full.windows doesnt boot when drive its connected. If i try hot plug on already booted winxp computer froze so i cannot erase again.dosflash is tying to do something but my drive doesnt want to give status 0x72 probably because its not erased in full(tried many times with power cycle).
command l-o-eras xxxx in dos doesnt do nothing(always status f80)
Any solution??Mayby somebody can make some kind of program to erase flash under dos or any other good solution for that.I hate windows wrrrr.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

thanks a lot team jungle! and merry christmas to all of you!

It was impossible to get DVDKey32_v0.7 to work in Win2k on a MSI K8N Neo2 motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64bit 3000+. I used the onboard SATA from Nforce3 chipset and all i got in DVDKey32 were zeros (in Indentify, Inquiry & Key everything were 0). Tried just about everything (mostly different booting sequenses). This is strange because DVDkey_V1.2 workes just great on this computer under DOS.

But when i switched to another computer with WinXP and a VIA6421A it worked just great again!

Then i flashed using the first computer (MSI K8N) in DOS and no problems there! Had to run L-O-Eras.EXE a few times and reboot once, but then it worked like a charm.

I would realy like to see a new version of DVDKey for DOS which creates a dummy.bin, but it workes just fine as it is right now.

By the way, I can't flash BenQ with the MSI K8N ether, even when I use a VIA6421A. But the same VIA6421A flashes BenQ just fine when used in the other computer (P3 700Mhz Asus CUV4X).

So just let me get this straight......sorry but i'm allways nervous.

Got the Key and everything so it's just flashing for me.

1. I put l-o-eras.exe and dosflash.exe on my bootable USB. With the hacked .bin file which i created in Djungle Flash.

2. I typ, in DOS, l-o-eras.exe E800 (E800 being my port on my VIA chip). This should return med Status 72?

My friend gor Status FF72, is its good also?

Then i switch off switch on

3. After I get Status 72 i typ dosflash.exe. It should find something on my E800 port?

Does it do like with BenQ? Ask for Y/N? Is just to type Y? Or should i Switch Off/On? What if it get's stuck after that?

Sorry for maybe asking to much, can anyone write a more detalied DOS guide?

FF72 is good

If your drive freezes using Jungletool do this:

1) Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)
4) Make sure 'l-o-eras.exe' is in there
5)Boot to dos
6)Type 'l-o-eras.exe' followed by the port number you're using. In my case I wrote 'l-o-eras.exe EC00'

EC00 being my port number

7)Keep retrying untill you get a 'FF72' status after the command
8 ) FF72 = Fully erased drive
9)Type 'Dosflash'
10) Should talk some stuff about MTK Vendors and should find any dvd drives present.
11) Keep pressing 'N' untill you come across your Lite-on (Mine was listed as Unknown Drive on port EC00)
12) Press 'Y' when you get to your Lite-on.
13) It should come up saying a number of options talking about 'W for write' , E for Erase etc.
14) Type 'LITEON W'
15) Should come up saying 'Type the file name of the bin you want to flash'
16) Type 'IX15.bin'
17) Wait and it should flash 4 banks (might say erase again aswell)
18 )Wait for a data checksum

just flashed my ben-q using dosflash/firmtool and everything went good. first thing i did was check the claims that benq reading is improved by putting in my formerly unplayable gta4 disc. on my hitachi box gta4 is flawless. when i got the benq i found i couldnt drive 3 blocks in a fast car without the road/cars vanishing...with 1.5 the road stays put, but the buildings are still low detail until i stop the car for about 5-10 seconds and the higher res textures pop in. overall its quite an improvement for me though. at least ill be able to check out the dlc when it hits now smile.gif

thanks c4e/team

FF72 is good

If your drive freezes using Jungletool do this:

1) Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)

You forgot a step after step #8, POWER CYCLE after erasing your liteon.

Can I just update my drive (BenQ 1.41) with the new 1.5, like I did from the orginial firmware to 1.41? Or is there a special way?

My way: Making a usb stick bootable with iPrep, and then dump/hack/flash it.

And what's new for the non-LiteOn users? And is it usefull to update to 1.5? Or if 1.41 worked OK, I don't have to switch?

Im afraid JungleFlasher has just bricked my drive... Merry christmas to me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

After Pressing Lite-On Erase, i found out that of some reasen the text field at the bottom, was bigger than the program window. So i could not read the last lines in the text field, meaning that i had no idea of when to power cycle. So when i couldnt do anything i tried to close the program, but the program froze. Now i cant get any respond from the drive at all.

Im on windows XP, and by the way has anyone else had the problem of Jungleflasher freezing every other time?

I am currently using 1.41 in my BENQ as well...and I don't think I will upgrade.

But I will provide you some insight, I upgraded my BENQ from like 1.4 IXtreme to IXtreme 1.41 in the past....and you do it just like you normally would.  Reason it works like that is because the only thing it needs from your previous firmware is the KEY, which is obviously in the firmware you are currently using on your drive or it wouldn't work.  So it just extracts the key from your 1.41 just as it would from factory firmware...then uses that key in your new 1.5fw.

So yes...unless something has changed that I am not aware of...you can flash/overwrite your old firmware with the new one just like you did when you went from original to hacked fw.

i think it is best to update if you can easily do it, and if you have samsung or benq then just use iprep in the usual way.

QUOTE(bissmo @ Dec 23 2008, 05:47 AM) *

Yes, try dosflash or the msg above to get it working in windows.

QUOTE(--NZ MODZ-- @ Dec 23 2008, 05:58 AM) *

QUOTE(cardyology @ Dec 23 2008, 06:22 AM) *

I have an issue  sad.gif

I read the Key perfectly.. followed the tutorial and flashed.. it flashed and verified the 4 banks (0,1,2,3) and said everything is good to go.

Now the drive wont eject... on the dashboard it says "Ejecting" but it doesnt actually eject.

I did accidentaly connect the pins on the drive board that made the drive eject/go back in, while i was trying to read the key...

how do I fix it so that it ejects the drive properly? I tried both via the button and dashboard with controller.. same problem =/

Edit - yes the Pin3 is connected on the power and everything else is as well.

I am also suffering from FREEZE/Hang, if i power cycle the drive a few times i can get the PC to respond again - I was trying to update to 1.5 on my ms28 - Jungleflasher just does not seem to work for this at all!

I had to manually cx key using firmtool then put file into backups folder on iprep USB and carry out badflash as normal -

My drive is working fine with 1.5 but would have been nice to get jungle flasher working!

was using a VIA card first (and for badflash) but tried jungleflash from onboard SATA - results - no freeze but still couldn't get it to work

"drive reports incorrect status!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Any insights would be great!

Is manually uninstalling the VIA 6421 SATA card and its drivers (system32/vmraid.sys) a surefire solution to the freezing? I really don't want to be stuck using DosFlash as I'm not sure how it works and if my bootable USB is even working.

EDIT: I was unable to find the "vmraid.sys" in my system32 folder, but I did find a "viamraid" file in system32 > drivers folder. Are these the same files?

my drive keeps returning invalid status.  i originally erased the drive with my via chipset but that cause it to freeze right afterwards.  i then hooked it up to my intel chipset and its not freezing but i am getting invalid status and can't write the drive.  what should i do?  drive won't eject either.

I decided to go ahead and update my BenQ 1.41 to 1.50, worked without a problem!  Thanks so much for this!  All I did was patch my the firmware with the tool provided then just copied the patched version over my old 1.41 USB boot disk I had, and flashed as normal.  No problems at all!  Cheers!

thank you to everyone who made this possible it worked perfect!!!

had my liteon flashed in under 10 min.

now i just have to reflash my spoofed hitachi back to normal..

BTW thought i would add this lil tip...

the casing on a hitachi 0078/79 and the older 0059 are the same.

in case anyone was wanting to send a broke 0078 drive back with a 3rrod console but wanted to keep the good 0059.. say um.. just switch the internals and microsoft sees the origanal 0059 drive in the rrod consol they junk it send you a new liteon etc... the hard part is remembering the casings were switched so write "59dj" on the drive lid ( under where the crome bezel clips ) so its noticable when re-using/flashing the drive..

still waiting on the consol to be shipped back to me so i can flash another liteon w00t!!!

( i've flashed 2 liteons no problems this morning so far and have about another 2-3 coming to me before christmas )

!!all were flashed with ck3 lite ( serial port ),  just drop solder 707 and with a via card!!

also before "doign it all manually" as in the tutorial.... just open the jungleflasher everything is there that tutorial will just confuse half the people.. they made the program easy to use and all the tools are there pretty much..

the rs232 is only needed to get the files.  use those files you have to flash the Lite-On.  You can skip the step of extracting the key and spoof data cause you already have it.

It sounds like it is erased.  Now use Dosflash to reflash the drive.  Do this in Dos.  Not sure if Dosflash32 will do it or not.

ok weird i cant edit my other post (on page 10)... so here is another update on my situation.

if I move pin 3 (like out/in) the drive will eject/go in.. and the drive reads both retail and backups.

but the eject button doesnt work =/ wtf =/

So drive is operational.. but wont eject.

i think its perhaps because i did the original flash when it was half way in trying to open and not half way open closed..

how do I fix this =/

i tried reflashing 3-4 times now... each time it says its a success but eject still doesnt work

Mate, you are a complete star, have had trouble all day, read what you put and going through the logic of it, followed all you said and hey presto, that got the little monster.

If knew ya personally would give you a drink.

Updated my Benq drive, all working great. Dosflash works with absolute ease, never been able to use any of the Windows tools though, they freeze of don't pick up the drive correctly, not a major hassle though - I'm a command line kinda guy.

This is good to know since I plan on using a floppy disk like I've always been doing. Just copy the new firmware to the floppy/USB device with iPrep, and reboot? Then flash as when you did with 1.4?

Manually uninstalling the VIA then deleting the drivers yourself (system32/vmraid.sys) so that windows does not automatically install the card will fix your freezing problems. However, this WILL cause windows to flip out and tell you that you have new hardware every damn boot and 3 seconds (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) The VIA drivers constantly poll the drive, and this is a issue, especially with erased liteon drives.

OMG You are awsome mate. After few atempts(45 minutes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) my lite-on came back to live(with ix1.5 off course ).Thank You very much for you and all jungle team.

Great Work, Respect for Team Jungle!!

But i've a question about flashing a LiteOn.
If i flash in Windows and it freezes, is my drive bricked after freezing?
Or can i just try to flash it again in Dos?

I couldn't get the Lite-On-Erase in the package to work in windows.
So I downloaded it from xbins and then it erased fine but it imediately locked up the pc after that.
So I turned the 360 on with no response from the bricked drive and booted it into windows and used jungleflash pointed it to the target FW and it was able to find and flash the empty Firmware bank just fine.

So my Lite-on is now flashed and working fine after being bricked.
I tried dosflash after it bricked and had no luck at all but jungleflash worked.
Windows took a while to boot up when it was bricked but I just let it go and it eventually booted into windows.

I was using via 6421L card to get the key and erase but it wouldn't work to flash it after it had been erased so I used my on-board sata and it worked fine.

18 )Wait for a data checksum

followed this but when i got to step 14 it came up invalid so i just put the letter W in then gave it the bin name it wanted and hey presto it worked

As everyone rushes to install this, I'm going to sit back and watch a bit.

I noticed it says things about 'enhanced disc jitter' well the last couple times they tried that, guess what happened? A shitload of people got banned because of it.

Also there are a lot of questions about what is enhanced for drives that aren't Lite-on or spoofs, and NO ANSWERS....

Something seems fishy, or off here. I'll stick with 1.41 till i get confirmation.

I try to do the DOS Lite-On-Erase.exe EC00 and i keep getting "status FFFF" any one know why or how to fix it?

I was getting that same error and an error saying it isn't an internal app/not recognised blah blah blah.
So I downloaded the Lite-On-Erase from Xbins and it erased it the 1st time then promptly locked up my pc.
So I just rebooted and unplugged the sata cable until the windows logo came up and it started to boot into windows then plugged the sata in as it was booting into windows and used jungleflash to write the new FW over to it.

Yep it was spot on really, I had to make a few minor changes but hey, this guy saved me one hell of a ball ache.
Mine was as:

USB FLASH DRIVE LITEON FLASHING
-------------------------------

1)Make a dos boot disk
2)Copy the insides of the 'dos' folder in Ixtreme 1.5
3)Copy your newly made Ixtreme 1.5 file with your own key inserted to it (rename it IX15.bin for ease)
4) Make sure 'l-o-eras.exe' is in there
5)Boot to dos
6)Type 'l-o-eras.exe' followed by the port number you're using. In my case I wrote 'l-o-eras.exe DC60'
(L-O-ERAS.EXE DC60)
DC60 being my port number

7)Keep retrying untill you get a 'FF72' status after the command
8 ) FF72 = Fully erased drive
9)Type 'Dosflash'
10) Should talk some stuff about MTK Vendors and should find any dvd drives present.
11) Keep pressing 'N' until you come across your Lite-on (Mine was listed as Unknown Drive on port DC60)
12) Press Number That Corresponds With Lite-on Drive. (In My Case Was '6')
13) It should come up saying a number of options talking about 'W for write' , E for Erase etc.
14) Type 'W'
15) Should come up saying 'Type the file name of the bin you want to flash'
16) Type 'IX15.bin' (If you named file to this, if not to the name of your file)
17) Wait and it should flash 4 banks (might say erase again aswell)
18 )Wait for a data checksum

Without this guy I think my drive would have been kicked up the back yard lol

but im stumped on the following.

could someone tell me how to edit my original liteon firmware so that the key from my xbox is added to it..

i dont want to use the key thats already on the liteon drive i want to use my own so that i can swap out my sammy for the liteon drive..

but for the life of me i cant get firmware toolbox to reconise the liteon firmware so that i can spoof it to a samsung ms28 with my ms28 key...

The lite is good enough if you have a COM port on your motherboard. The Pro also offers USB support.

You don't have to buy a probe as you can easily make one yourself I heard.. I also need to figure this out how this can be done. Anyone?

After I erase the Lite on, my pc doesn't lock up.  I flash the firmware with jungle tool but the verification fails.  Now my drive does not eject.

I'm asuming that the flashing from dos approach should be the right method for me.  Will post the results later.

What happens if the drive is completely dead after erase attempt?  I used same E000 port I use when reading the keys.  Was I supposed to leave the drive in the half eject state and the tx/rx bridged during the entire process?

I'm having similar trouble. I'm using a nForce chipset and have my drive connected to 0970.

I got the key out and erased fine. However after erasing I can't find my drive anymore anywhere.
Tried dosflash and it doesent show up. It doesent show up in BIOS either like before.

When I query the port with ck3tool1.2.4 it says incomplete packet write and then shows everything CC CC CC CC...
which is correct since the drive is empty?
When I try to query a different port it says CC CC CC... No device found on this port so ck3tool can access the drive I think..?

I can't eject the drive anymore via CK3 too. I've tried switching CK3 on and off at different points too and doesen't seem to help..

Any ideas??

P.S. I tried manually flashing with dosflash but it wouldn't do it, would just show the help info.

I'm starting to feel hopeless.. Spent hours and hours trying to read the key (problem was I had ck connected through COM11 (doh)) and now I can't flash the damn thing sad.gif

Thanks in advance.

First of, let me say great work.  Your hard work is always appreciated.

Secondly, it appears that no one has responded to questions similar to the one below?  What advantages does the 1.5 fw hold for a samsung M28 user like myself?  Does the "if it's not broke don't fix it" come in to play with this version?  Is it possible for someone to elaborate a bit more on how this fw benefits all users?  I know its early in the announcement and a lot of people will have many questions, I just though it will be hard to search for these answers in what appears to be a 100 page thread.

Question: For iXtreme 1.4 users, are the added benefits for iXtreme 1.5 significant for an upgrade?

Is there anything glaringly bad in the 1.4 firmware compared to the 1.5 firmware in terms of the C/R timings?

Okay,  my first question answered. I can just use jungle flasher if I previously got all the .bin's except for dummy.bin and I don't necessarily want to hook up my lite-on again.

Also, thanks so much to the incredibly talented work of everyone involved.

However, my main question is.

Does anyone know now what caused all those previous bannings as of late? Will the new features in the firmware combat whatever happened?

Thanks.

Here is a quick tutorial

Here is what you need to have been before you move on.  You need to have a hacked.bin file of your orig.bin file.  To do this if you don't have one already.
Open up Jungleflasher you should be on firmware tool 32.  If you used xtractor reader to obtain your key select LOAD FROM DUMP FILES tab insert your key, inquiry, identify files.  After you select ok a save screen will pop up with dummy as a save name.  You can name it whatever you want I chose to use orig its easier to remember.  After you type your name save it a folder you you'll remember.  Now you should see your key.  Next you need to select OPEN TARGET FIRMWARE and select ix15-liteon.  You should now see a key that doesn't match yours.  Select SPOOF SOURCE TO TARGET tab and now both keys should match.  After you are done with that select SAVE TO FILE tab and save as whatever you want.  I used hacked.  Now create a bootable flash drive using the following link http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm.  After you are done with that download dosflash 1.6 from xbins.  Use the following link if you don't have xbins  http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Down...tails&id=29.  After you have finished downloading dosflash 1.6 extract all the files to a folder.  Open the folder and copy all the files to your flash drive.  Now you need to locate your hacked.bin file and copy this file over as well.  Now restart your pc and select your flash drive to boot from first in your bios.  If you unsure of how to do this google works really nice.  Now you should boot into dos.
1.C:\dosflash
2.searching for atapi drives  make sure your xbox 360 is plugged in
3.Select the number for your correct port that your 360 is plugged into
4.Select W
5.hacked.bin
6.If everything went well all banks should be ok.

This is my first tutorial so please don't knowck me to hard if I forgot anything.  I'm just trying to help whoever I can.  If anyone has anything to add please fell free.

Someone already mentioned a lot of the reading problems the 1.4 had on BenQ's has been fixed up a bit (but not completely taken away). Apparently using the custom firmware on a BenQ drive creates worse load times, but this 1.5 helps fix that somewhat.

Try pressing N when to the first one see if you get a second one. I always get 1 or 2 before my xbox due to dvd drive. Also I dont really use the batch files I just through Dos Flash and firmtool on a bootable thumb drive, dump the firmware use flashtool to patch it then dos flash again to write. Also I haven't used the new dos flash or firm tools yet, may want to try older versions.

@ xbupupgrade -

i have a via6421a and the same thing happened to my drive. it became lifeless . it wouldnt eject , the tray stayed half closed even when i turned it off and on a few times .
 i  thought i bricked it.
i was also trying a spoof  the liteon to a benq. i was also using jungle flasher to erase the liteon.
i got x72 but then it became lifeless.

- so i turned the whole 360 off for a couple of minutes,

- closed all applications got to do with liteon flashing.

- turned on the 360

- opened up dosflash32

- it then found my drive

- clicked "write"

- chose my dummy file

- vaoila(i dont know how to spell it, lol)

- my drive was back

and flashing to benq worked .

to spoof as benq, you need to first ;

- get key.bin  and inquiry.bin for benq(using jungleflash)

- delete key.bin and inquiry.bin of liteon

- copy key.bin and inquiry.bin of benq into that folder

- you should now have  a]key.bin(benq)   b]inquiry.bin(benq)    c)identify.bin(liteon)

- make dummy file using jungleflasher

- use firmtool with dummy file as source and  ix15-liteon.bin as hacked

- should get key copied and something else copied , and you should get a warning!!!

- its o.k. just flash with dosflash32

done. biggrin.gif

Extra security features aside, with a Samsung flashed to 1.4 is it absolutely imperative to update the firmware, or should I just leave everything be?

@jpcesar- looks like you havent done the half tray thing correctly.

you get that message when you havent done the half tray thingy or your serial cable not done right .

i used a max3232 adapter from ebay and a bit of soldering of those points , Rx , Tx , ground and +3.3 power.

also join 707 must be done to drive. biggrin.gif

Hey Iriez could you please elaborate? I used CK3 1.2.4 for the key extraction. Am I at risk or why do you discourage the use of dvdkey 0.6 / CK 1.2.4.

In DOS, whats the most number of times people are finding they have to issue the l-o-eras command ?

Mine (hooked up to a 6421A) returned FF80 maybe 15 times. I figured by then it wasnt going to give me the correct response, so I figured Id try it anyway. I power cycled the PC and the Lite-on, at which point it wouldnt eject  (as expected). I then ran Dosflash chose the correct port, selected W, pointed it at a:\ix15.bin and after that it gave me an Erasing, then Erase Successful type message, then flashed banks 0-3 and finished.
The drive now ejects ok, but I dont have a 360 to test it in just now....Im sure its fine though.

My question (apart from how many times should I be attempting erase), is , are there any specific points in time to power cycle the drive, or even an apropriate time to switch the drive on in the first place.

Seems its difficult to brick these drives, so Im going to expiriment further now...but it would be useful to see how many times others using DOS are having to fire the l-o-erase command at it.

dont use l-o-eras
use dosflash to erase and flash the drive
i got ffff as status like 100 times
it erased the first time on dosflash and flashed properly
u will know if it workd when u flashed the drive, the green center led will remain solid, and the drive will eject again.

Im not sure why they would have provided l-o-eras.exe in the DOS folder if it wasnt required though ?
Did you just use the W command in dosflash, or the seemingly more lite-on specific ones ?
Does dosflash detect that the drive isnt erased and only erase if required ?

On the benq, if you dont fully erase before you flash, it can brick the drive. Now assuming liteon is made by the same manufacture, probabaly needs the same. If l-o-eras wasnt needed, they wouldnt include it in the tutorial.

To the guy that got the key.bin and inquiry.bin from a benq drive for spoofing, did you just run dvdkey? What if i dont have the original benq drive and only got the drive key as txt, how do i convert that txt to a valid key.bin to use with jungle?

DVDKey32 0.7 issues more requests to the drive to allow for the ixtreme lite-on fw to be patched with as much original information as possible.  This is why it is recommended, along with JungleFlasher, for retreiving your key.

As long as you can get the original drive key in .bin form, yes u can spoof using jungle. Im stuck at the part where u get the key.bin from a txt file.

lol, half the stuff needed wasnt included, including dvdkey32 0.7
it wasnt uploaded untill later on, it wasnt included with the package
or dosflash32, lol
probably still too buggy to release to noobs, who are erasing drives before they dump the keys, lol

dosflash erase erased my drive perfectly
it was suggested to me last night in #fw when l-o-eras wasnt working
remember half this software is BETA lol
and you should use what works, everyone who has flashed many already like myself, 5 before 7am this morning, have tested all.  Turns out the only way to turn your liteon into a brick is to not dump the keys and files correctly.  if youve done that, the drive erases and writes just fine.

You should just be able to open the bin file in Firmware toolbox 4.8 and just replace the key from your text file

I have CK3 + probe to dump key.bin and enquiry.bin

Use the following link if you don't have xbins  http://www.360mods.net/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=29.

Good work mate... It will sure help the starters...

Aru

I just had a go at reflashing my drive. As I said earlier, I havent got a 360 handy to test it in, so I am assuming it worked first time.
So on this reflash, I again got nothing other than FF80 on the l-o-eras.exe command. This time I sent it 50 times. I again power cycled the drive, and find that eject had stopped working, so I do think that something has been erased, if not everything. I then again used dosflash as before, selecting W, and again it stated it was erasing before it flashed banks 0-3, and after another power cycle of the drive, it started ejecting again.

So it looks like Im not going to get any joy with l-o-eras, but it also looks like it doesnt seem to matter.

Im still not entirely comfortable with it....somethings not right with l-o-eras not working.

Just like to say many thanks to team jungle for this great work biggrin.gif

I have a couple of issues, I have Key.bin, Inquiry.bin and Identity.bin, so I went to Jungleflasher and hit firmware tool 32 and created the lite-cfw.bin.

I then went to MTK Flash 32, changed the port to FE00 (sata port with liteon connected and powered) hit Lite-on-erase got the warning message saying am I sure, hit ok, then got the message:

when erase complete vendor intro will be sent.

Power drive off then on in quick succession, Once!

Drive should return status 0x72 and a good device id

Do you wish to proceed.

I hit yes and got the following:

Sending Lite-On-Erase request to port 0xFE00
Drive returned Status 0x51
--------------------------------------------------
Device Intro Failed

Now my drive cannot be recognised and when I power on my 360 the green led just flashes.

Have I bricked my drive somehow? I have tried with two Pc's with the same results one using Nvidia sata controller and one using VIA.

I just don't know what to do now, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

davree

A new DosFlash will be released very shortly that will include LiteOn DVDKey extraction and dummy.bin capabilities. Note that firmtool uses dummy.bin to correctly spoof information from dumped key/inquiry/identify into other 1.5 firmwares. At this moment JungleFlasher and DVDKey32 support the dummy.bin feature!

does this mean you will be able to retrieve your key with this?

i have succesfully flashed my liteon quite easily.

using a via 6421a pci card and ck3 + home made probe (reincarnated multimeter probe)
i could not flash in windows as my pc kept locking up, i have the portio drivers installed but think i need to try it on a fresh install of xp.

i attempted the erase in windows and it had not fully erased as the drive tray was unresponsive, so used the dosflash package included to erase and flash

i left the tray in the half open position when i attempted to flash in windows, after that the tray wouldnt open or close until, i dont know if tray position makes a difference for erasing or flashing.

i like the way this liteon drive loads backups and its not loud either at 12x

great work from the team... thanks all involved

l-o-eras.exe kept returning 80, just erased/wrote with dosflash.
took a little fiddling but everything worked out, tested fine.

I'd guess your disk is damaged, or your previous firmware (if you had one) was of a slower speed that allowed it to read better (afaik, 1.5 is always 12x).  I'd try making a new backup.

What about if i have a benq and want it to be hacked and leave it as a benq ? Are there any reasons why I should swith from 1.4 to 1.5 ?

Thanks!

So I can see the drive detected in my BIOS during startup.  I can even select it as a bootable drive, yet dosflash says I have no ATAPI devices, and nothing is detected if I try through windows.  I'm not using a VIA card.  I'm using the onboard ICH9 sata ports on my motherboard.  I've tried all 4 and I get nowhere.  If anybody can help me I'd appreciate it.

You should just be able to open the bin file in Firmware toolbox 4.8 and just replace the key from your text file

Doesnt work with firmware toolbox, the key.bin is only 1k file size and it pops up an error saying firmware not supported when you open it in fwtb.

If you correctly dumb the 3 files you need, and when you erase your drive firmware with JungleFlasher and your computer freezes. There is no problem right? (because you have the 3 files already).

And what is the safest method: JungleFlasher, Dosflash 1.6 or 1.7beta (new on xbox-scene)?

Flashed a new xbox a few hours ago. I extracted the key.bin in windows using dvdkey32. I couldn't erase the firmware until I booted to dos and used dosfalsh. I kept getting FF80, all I had to is turn off then turn on the xbox and it erased from the first time.

Went to windows to do the flashing using Jungleflasher with no problems at all.

I'm using VIA chipset.

I forgot to say big thanks to team jungle.

You can use the .bin files you mentioned there mate to create the dummy.bin using jungleflasher, then hack it. Erase the fw and flash the lite on with the hacked.bin and throw it back in the 360 and away you go..

Apparently the 1.4 and 1.41 firmwares for the BenQ made games have crappier read times, GTA4 being the best example. This newer firmware is supposed to help fix the problem, though not entirely. Read times should be improved.

From what I've heard, deleting the VIA 6421 driver which is located in your Windows > System32 > Drivers folder under the name "viamraid" will solve your freezing issue. However, there will be an annoying "Found New Hardware" every 3 seconds and reboot. Shouldn't matter because once you're done flashing the Liteon you can just reinstall the drivers to use with other drives.

The first time I flashed my lite-on with my via card, jungleflasher worked great. No problems. But then I wanted to do a video tutorial so I tried re-flashing it. It started freezing after the erase. I tried every configuration of drivers that I could think of, but it would still freeze after the erase. I had downloaded the latest version of dosflash and I was reading the readme that came with it and it said that on the erase, you need to use a seperate power supply or the drive would most likely return a busy state on erase. So I thought what the heck. I pulled out an old AT power supply hooked everything up, and just for giggles, I used the tray half closed trick too. I used the power supply to power cycle the drive and not my CK3 pro. Well, it worked. Not only was I able to flash that drive again, but 3 more times after that, plus another one of a friends.

Maybe this will help someone having similar troubles.

This is the best app ever period.  I got it all done with my homemade setup. I used a max3232 that I ordered from maxim-ic.com.  I used a via6421 card, xeno ck, and windows Xp. I flashed two liteons so far. Each one worked for me on the first try.  I'm starting to like this 32bit env better than the 16bit dos one.

Only hiccup I had was when I did the erase for the liteon in the mtkflash32 section of JF.

I got that "Be patient my young padwann" errror message.  I must admit it's amusing.  To get that sorted just make sure you're not intoxicated like i was at that time.  I didn't see the "LiteOn Erase" button so I accidentally pushed the other Erase button.  No harm no foul though. Because all you get is that Padwan message.

Firstly, excellent work TJ.

Followed the tutorial, and it worked like a charm... except at the very end the verify failed!!! It still plays my GOW2 stealth backup just fine though, so I'm not complaining smile.gif Could be a bug that needs fixing.

Using on board VIA8237, didn't need to disable RAID drivers, didn't need to install portio32 as it was already installed for "mode_b_portio32" app.

Anyone know a tutorial for flashing BenQ,Samsungs and Hitachi's with this app?

PS. Used JF to get a 79 Hitachi into ModeB easily, but couldn't get the 79unlock (.wav) function to work, used the old fashioned way instead.

Sorry to tell you that you might be screwed.  I did the same thing to a drive with CK3.  I guess I was getting a little overconfident since I'm not a noob with these things, and forgot to take the time to make sure the power cable was right side up.  Btw, it is hard to tell, you really need to look close to make sure you got it right.  And for those that say the plug won't go in upside down without pushing really hard, that just isn't true.  Went in easy for me, which made me assume it was in right, then POOF!  Both CK3 and drive got fried!

Luckily, I could easily see the problem with the CK3 (gold plating blew off) and just bridged that connection, & easily fixed the CK3 (thank god!).
In your case, if you are really lucky, maybe just the CK3 is bad and not the drive.  Inspect the CK3, should be an easy repair if you have soldering tools.  If the CK3 is OK and still problems, then it might be game over.
I tried everything to fix my drive, doing all sorts of jumps and trying every trick in the book.  In the end I just needed to accept that the chip just got way too hot, end of story.

Sounds like the same thing happened to you jbaruch.  I had the same problem here.  After repairing the CK3 and confirming that it was working normal again, my drive (liteon) was dead as could be.  It wouldn't eject at all.
Every now and then I could hear some weak motor spinning, but with that severe heat came off the chip.  Also despite trying a ton of power cycles, different ports, and other stuff...my drive just wasn't being recognized by my comp.
No eject + drive not being seen = bad news!

If you are still trying to save the drive, pay close attention to the chip cuz it can get super hot when there is problems and if it does you lose any hope of saving the drive.  Besides, chances are that if it seems doomed, it very likely is.  Keep it or sell it for parts.

Have some comments and a question.

First off, thx to all involved with 1.5.  Wasn't too thrilled about flashing again after I had just done it a month ago, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
I don't even pay for live (just running on my last few days of my free 1st month) or use it.  But I still like to get online for some downloads and patches and don't want to lose that option.  Still like the new fw though, and very nice to make use of my liteon.

I was using 1.41 @ 8x with my previous drive.  My liteon does work just as well or better with 1.5, however, with the fw being locked in at 12x I do notice a pretty big increase in noise from the drive.  And while loading times are a tad faster, I'd still rather 8x.  But again, if it is best for stealth on 1.5, you gotta do what you gotta do!
Hope 1.5 can hold us all over for a long time!

Anyhow, regarding the flashing process.  While I appreciate the hard work done on Jungle Flasher, I as well had some issues with it, for sure.  And since it is beta (I think), this shouldn't be a surprise.  I'm also using vista.

For this process, I fortunately still had my .bin dumps from a month back, so I didn't have to go through the dumping again which was nice.  And for those asking, not you don't need the ck3 probe.  I dumped the old fashioned way (by soldering the points).  Worked just fine.

Thus I was able to pick off at the firmware tool 32 tab to make the new cfw.  I did have some trouble with this at first, it wouldn't accept the 1.5 fw file.  Wouldn't make dummy.bin either.  Eventually I got it all to work, but I'm not sure how I did it.
Wanted to use firmware toolbox like I did for 1.41 but it didn't support 1.5.

So I made my cfw with jungle tool, but that was all I got accomplished with jungle tool.  The rest of the process just didn't work for me in JT.  Couldn't erase (thought I was bricked at this point).  Couldn't even get device ID, nor get it to write later on.  It also wasn't identifying my device at all (other than unknown device) and didn't get my port # right.

While not to thrilled with the tool, if the devs can get it working better and we can get some better tuts for it, then it will be a great gui.  The tuts I read had screwups in them, which in turn screwed me up pretty bad.  And I was using the official team xecutor one, and its not the 1st tut from them I used that wasn't very accurate.

Oh well.  Anyhow, after making my cfw and having trouble with JT, I ended up just finding a real nice guide on how to get the job done using dosflash32.
Once I decided to use dosflash32, things went real easy and fast.

My liteon, which I had thought was bricked from the freeze in JT, was finally detected correctly by dosflash32 after just a single well timed power cycle.  I let out a sigh of relief!  But I still needed to do a proper erase in dosflash, but that went fine, first try.
Then I wrote with my cfw, again worked first try, and that was it!

So, my suggestion for anybody weary of using JT or having issues with it is to simply use dosflash32 to erase and write your cfw, and you can do it all in windows (a very nice thing to not even have to reboot your comp one time for the whole flashing process, thanks ixtreme 1.5!).  Maybe just use JT for the dumping and writing the cfw.

Lastly, for anyone still reading sleeping.gif ...I do have a question.  I've heard from a number of people that it is safer (not sure how much safer) to flash the drive model that came with your 360 rather than spoofing another model.
My question is...taking it a step further...does it matter if the drive you flash is the EXACT drive that your 360 came with?  Or do you get the same security as long as its the same model # and brand?  For example, if my 360 came with a dg-16d2s liteon, is it just as safe to use that same model liteon, even if it isn't the exact same drive that came with your 360?

I wonder this because when using another drive (even if it is the same exact model) you are spoofing your original key from your original drive to it, which is obviously a totally different key than this "other" drive has.
But when flashing the drive your 360 came with, you are simply flashing/spoofing the same key on it that was already on there.

See what I'm getting at?  Wondering if spoofing the same model drive (but not your original drive) is still just as safe as flashing your original drive.

Successfully flashed my BenQ VAD6038 this afternoon with iXtreme v1.5 using iPrep 101 v005.  I updated iPrep's definitions with the new v1.5 ones available in this thread.  I tried several times, but could not get iPrep 101 v008.6 Beta to create a bootable USB flash drive.  My computer just kept saying NOT A BOOTABLE MEDIA.  Very weird.   I ended up using good old iPrep v005 without any problems.  No problems as usual with the VIA chipset; works like a charm every time.  My Xbox's DVD-ROM sounds much louder now that is set at 12x, but hopefully it will keep MS away a little longer!

JungleFlasher has frozen on me 3 times, once during verify which wasn't a problem, but also twice during writing, which killed 2 Liteon drives. So if anyone in Australia has any spare Liteon drives available please PM me or email through my website at XPunked.com

I'll be using the DOS based methods only from now on.

Try flashing them again using DOSFlash, they might not be as dead as you think.

Great tutorial guys!
I had no problem extracting the keys, and erasing the drive was easy.
However when attempting to flash the drive, my pc would freeze when ever I turned on my CK3.
With this tutorial, I had no problem flashing my drive.

Thanks all!

On a side note, any word of when and if a multispeed release of IXtreme 1.5 will be made?
I'm happy that my LiteOn works regardless of speed, but I think I'm going back to IXtreme 1.41 for my BenQ.
Yeah, 8X spoiled me smile.gif

I had the same problem... My comp. freeze whenever I turn CK3 on after attemped to erase it. I solved it by using dosflash. However, I had to type the full command in dos for flashing to work. I leave my CK3 off until I booted to dos and type in the full command and turn CK3 on right after I hit enter with the command.

"dosflash w ac00 1 a0 2 0 4 c:\liteon_cfw.bin"

w = write
ac00 = port number
liteon_cfw.bin = patched hacked firmware (made with jungleflash)

I tried typing just "dosflash" and waiting for options to come up but it didn't but freeze my comp.

Hope this will help for people that have same problem.

ran into a bit of trouble flashing my first lite-on,
i managed to erase the chip and then proceeded to flash in windows using jungle flasher,
it wrote to it but failed when trying to verify the write,

I then managed to erase the chip again then flashed in dos using dosflash, but was getting error 65 on the xbox,
i can not get the drive to erase again as when i use junge flasher the computer freezes up and every 2 mins or so it works for about 5 seconds any ideas?

i try to use l-0-erase but it returns a FF80 status any help would be appreaciated

Hey Guys,

I have a BenQ iXtreme 1.41 drive. All across the forums I'm finding a lot of information, instructions & tutorials regarding the LiteOn drive, but none for the BenQ. Is there any PDF or other set of instructions to use the JungleFlasher GUI (through Windows) to flash BenQ?

Thanks!

I also am getting very lost. I had no problem flashing my Hitachi about a year back and now am dumbfounded with my virgin Benq. I got a 'done' message when I ran JungleFlasher and hit Unlock Benq on the MTK Flash 32 page. When I went to the DVDKey32 tab and hit Get Key it just hangs until my 360 shut off (i'm not sure why, seems like a time out).

All the tutorials for the JungleFlasher are Liteon oriented (and with due cause since they finally have a solution!) but am confused here. I'd use the iPrep method but the new 1.5 is kicking back an error saying it's an invalid firmware. I may be missing an updated tutorial so please point me in that direction if my above responses are redundant.

Thanks!

Been at it for days. I have vista help please i know people on here don't want to help but i tried everything took me forever to just get the key and files which was a pain in the butt. Not sure if i did that correctly cuz maximus didn't work in retrieving key nor jungle just work with dos 32. I installed all vista stuff I think. Please anybody have a good vista tutorial. You issue has got to be those 7's. It doesnt look like your key was properly inserted into the hacked firmware.

It looks like you did actually get a clean key. (307F491E102116405E98D9515AA6BE40)
What i would do it open Ixtreme 1.5 in firmware toolbox, manually insert the key, then reflash. If that isnt the key then you are SOL my friend, and your box is bricked with a capital B.

I would just like to say that I have flashed my Lite-On drive using the 0.0.43.BETA version of Jungleflasher. Everything worked flawlessly, as it should, and I am a NOOB at flashing an Xbox 360. I have modded my original Xbox, but that is altogether a different animal. For the people that are having trouble I would say don't get too far ahead of yourself, I followed the instructions in the guide step by step and my flash went off the first time perfectly, the drive worked afterward, and everything is good. I would like to thank Team Jungle for this obviously difficult task that they have taken on with the Lite-On, the so called "unhackable" 360 drive. It just goes to show that you should never use the term "unhackable" when you describe something in this field, because people like Team Jungle will make you look like an idiot. This had to be a very difficult hack, and they pulled it off.

Thanks

Todd

Nice, been waiting for a way to flash this drive for a few months now.

Did it today with CK3 kit and it's working great!

I've been flashing 360's since it started and people like TeamXecuter and Team Jungle never cease to amaze me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm using Jungleflasher to try and read the key from my Liteon but as soon as I push Get Key my PC reboots. Anyone know what's going on?

Did I miss the Hitachi release at some point?  I thought it was going to released in early January and now it is early February.  Does anyone have an update on this?  Thanks.    biggrin.gif

mbeno13, I signed on today thinking the same thing.  All my boxes ended up having hitachis, from 46-79.  I haven't played online because of still being at 1.4. But, I don't do live much anyways.  I was under the impression it was coming early January too but apparently not.  ixtreme 1.4 is doing just fine for my backups but I would like the latest and greatest version too haha.  If anyone has any information about ixtreme 1.5 for hitachi, could you share it with us who are patiently waiting? Thanks

Let me tell you I appreciate the reply knowing that there are others patiently waiting like me haha.  I actually have never even modded mine yet so I don't even have 1.4 to hold me over.  i figured I would wait until 1.5 so it is def safe.  I actually just bought an arcade with a lite-on drive but I am a bit hesitant because I am not the best with this stuff.  I wouldn't really mind too much if my 3 yr old hitachi got messed up plus it should be easier.  Oh well hopefully soon...

when I try to install Portio32.exe after doing the Vista Portio32.inf install I still get an error box to pop up saying file not found c:\windows\yehal.  Also if I just try to open jungleflasher i get an error from the .net

"unhandled exception has occurred in your application.  if you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit the application will close immediatley.

invalidargument=value of 0 is not falid for selectedindex
parameter name: selectedindex"

I am also having the same issue. Did anyone find a fix for this yet? Do we need to install something more to get JungleFlasher running properly? I have this issue on one PC (running XP) but not on another(running VISTA).

Thanks in advance

Hi, i have a doubt...i made a backup stealth checked but the burn didn't went that well (because of my burner) and altough it starts it gives a read error at the middle of the game, now i'm thinking if this may be undertsood as a bad game by the xbox and possibly cause a ban or the iextreme 1.5 wouldn't let it start if it weren't right....i'm a little confused with the protection this iextreme gives, thanks and sorry for the noob question.

Team Jungle I must make a donation to the most awesome greatest work eva! How can I send the team a donation from my Paypal account as I really must do this. Thank you to all the members of the team and I sure wouldn't mind recruiting such a Genius team if I had won the lottery or something. It would be so awesome to have you guys work together on a console idea that I have. It will blow any console out of the water as I have worked up and have drawn up the concept for it.

Much appreciation to TEAM JUNGLE!!

Use 2 mod took about a year off due to family issue; A buddy erase his firmware, but was unable to write to drive Liteon.  He end up with a E74 error, i could understand, if you can't read how can you erase firmware?
