yesterdey i put the power cable of the dvd drive upside down.(xbox360) and the dvd drive burns.
So, a have a brand new lg/hitachi dvd drive, but i can't use it beacause i not have the key from the lite-on.
What can i do?
Thanks in advance

At a guess, depending on the severity of the burn, you would need to beg/borrow/steal/buy another Liteon drive. (Extract keys from it if necessary). then the only hope you have is to remove the bad components from your bad Liteon and replace them with components from the good liteon in the hope of extracting the keys from it.  If the Flash chip burnt then you have yourself a XBL games machine and a DVD player and never be able to play original games in there again (or your backups).

The chances are you just fried a voltage regulator, but who knows

this could be a nice little project for someone who likes a challenge smile.gif

Those look more like resistors to me, not fuses....but a good place to start checking nonetheless.

There are a lot of 0 ohm resistors on the drive. 0 ohm resistors are essential fuses because they don't do anything except burn out on shorts. If you solder across them you should fix the problem.

lets be honest here, if you cannot plug in a cable correctly do you think you'd be able to solder off all the blown components and replace them  uhh.gif

I know what I am doing and I did the same thing. Reason being was the connector makes contact with the pins before it hits the plastic blocks. I had my CK3 Lite switch in the off position but did not know the 5V line was connected direct and fried the trace on the CK3 Lite.

i dont know what to think, but
somebody told me, it is possible to read the key from the xbox360s eeprom with a special(and expensive~400EU) tool. but the guy not have that stuff at the moment so it is not possible now. he said is it possible to read that key trough the lan network cable but is very very complicated and he dont know how it works. somebody heard somethin' like that?
Anyway at the moment hoping to repair the drive.
