Title: Computer Froze While Flashing Hitachi Drive. Am I Screwed?
Post by: DaddyLongLegs on February 04, 2020, 03:37:00 AM
Hey guys. I was following the tutorial for flashing the Hitachi 79 drives. Everything was going great. Slax got it in mode b, Windows XP recognized it, I played the WAV file, it unlocked. I got to dump the key, and began flashing with Toolbox. Halfway through it Toolbox started locking up and it completely failed the flash half-way through.

Now I can't even get the drive to act like it's alive any more. I can't eject it in the 360, I can't get it to eject with my Xecuter kit. I can't get Slax to recognize it. Nothing.

Am I 100% screwed here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At least you still have your key. You don't even need an entire new drive, you might be able to order just a replacement PCB (if you can find one), or send it off for someone to fix with an external programmer.
