Hey there guys here is something interesting that happened to me last night. Alright I went back to my hometown this weekend to see some friends and left my 360 harddrive at my parents' house. I got back to my apartment and I wanted to try the fix thats been reported about 360s not keeping the divx update correctly by making another profile on my machine to download it with. Like I said I forgot the hard drive but I had a memory card on me so I used that to store it on. So I went to sign up for a new account and I just used the name 'dummy' for the profile knowing that i'm sure I'd have to add something to the name once I got to the 'sign up for live' part of the process because i'm sure the profile name 'dummy' is took out there in xbox land.
i got to the trying to connect part of the process and the xbox wouldn't sign into live. now my firmware is modded with ixtreme 1.2 and I survived the other banhammers but I hadn't been on since last weekend's ban. I ran the connection tests and it passed them all and failed the xbox live test of course so i figure i'm banned. looked at the status codes and they appear the same as anyone else who's been banned. but here is where something caught my eye that i couldnt really find any info about (after that long winded story).
The "banned screen" I get says "this account has been banned from xbox live.....yadda yadda." all the screen shots i've seen online all say "this console has been banned. So maybe its wishful thinking but does anyone think that the profile name that i started the process with, "dummy" , was banned at some point and it isn't my system thats banned? Maybe that Microsoft saw "dummy" and said no to connecting before it even came up and said...this profile name is already in use? I'm heading home tonite for christmas so i'll pop my HDD back on with my profile and try to sign in and see if it will connect or give me a different ban screen or something. I'm at work right now so i cant double check the ban screen but I swear it said " this account has been banned.." not "this console..." Even if I was banned it was a great run. thanks sorry for the long post.
