Title: A Very Confused Noob
Post by: vcdragon on December 16, 2007, 05:07:00 PM
Hello, im very new to this so excuse me if i sound like a total noob, ill try my best not too.
My situation is that a couple weeks ago i was reading about firmware flashing and it was so far undetected on LIVE. and the reason for recent bans because of bad kreon rips.

So what I did was went to a computer fair and had my 360 dvd firmware hacked to play Backup games.
My DVD player is a Hitachi V47. I think it may of been ixtreme1.2 as i was early december anyways after reading about the recent bannings Im being lead to believe that I need to update My firmware to avoid being banned.
So My question is this, If firmware is Not been detected why would I need to update it to firmware 1.4?

The update helps to resolve some issues with bad Kreon rips. However it has come to light that MS may be detecting hacked firmware and if this is the case it don't matter if you update to 1.4 or not. I would hold tight for a while and wait until more info comes to light over the new Live bans.

However I always recommend to have a off line only 360 for playing backups and have a second console use just for online gaming that is not modded.
