Title: Iprep Status Just Flashing Between 0xd1 And 0x51
Post by: misterkor on December 09, 2007, 07:02:00 PM
When status toggles between 0x51 and 0xD1 you need to turn off xbox and status will then stay at 0xD1.
Turn your xbox back on and you should get 0x73 and reading should begin.

I am having the same issue as above.
For some reason it will not continue past the 0x51/0xD1 screen.

I have done 2 6038 drives about 2 weeks ago using dosflash16 and it worked perfect.

WTF This does not make any sense.  When I did the other 2 drives I used A000 now the 6421 is stating it is on 9000.

I have tried 9400 as well and no good.

I am typing at the prompt:

dosflash r 9000 1 a0 1 4 c:\orig.bin 0

Now I do remember using a C7 somewhere but I do not recall what or how it was used.

Ok this is interesting.  I swapped the Sata Cable for a new one and it flashed in DOSFLASH32 in Winblows XP SP2 on the 6421 Sata PCI card.

Took about 60 seconds including the converting of the orig.bin file.

If only it was always that easy.

Oh yeah I had to disconnect my LG 8164B drive to make it work.

What was learned from this?
It always comes back to testing the basics. (Keep a spare cable around)

Hope this may help someone else.

i know this is a bit late but for all the people still looking for an answer to this problem i can confirm that it will work if you swap your sata cables. i left my lg8164 drive plugged in and it worked.
