Ok i have myself my first annoying drive after hundreds of good ones...
here it goes...
fitted passkey blue light flashed, loaded toolbox, read drive etc everything is OK.
smart hack patched the firmware to latest and also spoofed to MS28.. thing is i forgot to patch the new key onto this drive as its going into a different box...
now i have a fully working drive (eject etc) but the key doesnt match the new box, and it wont work on old xbox because its spoofed ARghh lol.
ok ive tried to open it up in tool box again, using power on with eject which gets drive recognised in windows etc.. now toolbox recognises the drive as MS28. when i do the usually procedure of using a game in the drive and clicking RAW DUMP, i just get either an ERROR DRIVE COULD NOT BE READ. or it will read the drive BUT say that the crc checksums dont match.
So i thought let me try and flash the drive instead... i open the original untouched file for the drive, drive dump, patch restore, all i get is could not verify write.. it also gives errors that there are lots of patch sectors and a risk of killing the drive..
any ideas how to get this thing working again. or any similar problems/workarounds.
passkey is installed correctly as ive tested it on another drive right after this one without a problem..
