Title: Via Pcmcia Flashing A Benq Drive
Post by: Jduffy on November 22, 2007, 11:43:00 PM
Hi guys,
I've managed to succesfully flash my Benq drive with the Ixtreme 1.1 rev2 firmware, using dosflash32 (1.3).
However a couple of my backups will freeze occasionally during loading, I've read that this can be a result of the slower speed used in the quiet firmware so I want to change to the fast version.

When I use dosflash32 as I did before in Vista, it now freezes after I turn the drive off and on again, so I can't even read the drive, I've also tried this on a WinXP laptop and the same thing happens. And I cannot seem to get my PCMCIA card to be recognised using ntfs4dos and dosflash16.

Has anyone got any ideas on possible solutions?

Cheers

Just to update, I've now tried dosflash 1.4 and still no luck, it keeps freezing.
Anyone have any ideas?

Jduffy are you flashing back to the original firmware?  Ensure that you do this before flashing to another updated F/W.  Try just going back to original dude and start from scratch.

check out the Beng Q section on flashing as well:)
