OK, so i have done the old xbox mods easily but they are all hard mods, not flashing etc. so I'm being careful so as not to break this.

I have the software and firmware needed to flash the drive, have the cables and SATA (onboard it's a Sammy drive so cant use usb right?).

I run vista on the desktop and it is playing up, but that doesn't matter right? I'll be in DOS for the most of it? I have XP on the laptop which I'll use to run the windows apps, transfer it to the desktop when I need to. Will that work? (i.e. make the USB stick to boot to dos etc. on the laptop, boot desktop with that stick, extract the fw to the stick, take the stick back to laptop and read the key. Update the iXtreme with my key on the laptop, put updated iXtreme on USB stick, put stick on desktop and flash the drive in dos)

I think I know what I'm doing, just checking and double checking... I really don't want to mess up the drive.
