Hack360 is a Windows PPF-based firmware flashing tool for Hitachi-LG drives. From readme/nfo:
This version installs IXtreme 1.2 rev 2 by C4E, It does not need nothing else. This pack not have any firmware, only patch drive firmware and convert to firmware ixtreme firmware or restore to original Firmware.
News: - Autodetection drive (only without spoofing drives) - Spoofing and restore Model drives. - Change Keydrive (Only anothers firmware hitachi 3X, 4X, 5X) - Selection to restore cheksum data.
Scripts uses "subroutines" that are not needed to repeat for each version of the reader nor of firmware. This allows to adapt the code very easily.

It does not need nothing else.
So... what you're saying is that it does need something else?

WAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!
FINALLY
-
Is this usable for the 78 drives? I am still on the old hitachi non-iextreme firmware and yet to update
-
Ok i got the errors with the previous and latest firmware and use this patch fix and flashed perfectly the first time. But my xbox freezed within a minute or 2. Am i missing something or my xbox just messed up cuz i get the 3rod every so often. I would have to do the towel trick every day to get it going again.

I'm not too sure, but I do know that in the past you could ONLY use toolbox.
So unless they updated the utility with a new way to do it, I would guess not.
I will probably wait until a new toolbox is released (but then again, I have iXtreme).

@AirRage: I have somewhat of the same problem. I was wondering if I could pick up a couple of your tips. I received the same errors when attempting to restore.bat previously I just got the latest update but I am still stuck. my pc wont recognize my hitachi drive.
I continue to get error 65 and one red flashing (bottom right) light when plug to tv and by the way my drive does not eject
I was wondering after you received the error the first time how did you recover your drive so your pc could recognize it
Any idea will be appreciated,
Thanks!

This version don't need any fix for this patch, months ago it was added.

Will this tool allow you to take the key off the flashed hacked firmware currently on the xbox (if you lost your original.bin)?

Huh?
If your drive functions properly, you can read it to obtain a new original.bin.... no need for a new app...

What I am asking is this. A friend of mine has an older hacked firmware on his drive. That firmware obviously has the correct key in it. He lost his original firmware, the one he extracted from the drive before he flashed it.
So this may be a retarded question, but is it as easy as just reading the hacked firmware that is currently on the drive to get the key for the new iextreme firmware he'd put on the drive?
thanks
I don't know shit about this topic or Hitachis. I have a samsung so forgive my ignorance.
-
if you read out the current hacked firmware then sure you would get the key. Although you wouldn't need it as the hitachi firmware key isn't touched during flashing and you could just restore and flash to Ixtreme without any key.

This doesn't seem to do anything new and it doesn't seem to be easier either. The instructions are in bad English, and I'm not about to try this application on a $500+ system if I don't know exactly how it's supposed to be used.
I'll stick with the latest iXtreme1.2_rev2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw release for now. It's never failed me in the past.
-
It says you can change the drive key with this.
How do I go about doing that?
I can flash and restore the firmware perfectly, but it doesn't flash the right key on it.

1.- Make folder "KEY" in program folder (IXTREME HITACHI 1.2 +) c: \IXTREME HITACHI 1.2 +\KEY
2.- Copy original firmware hitachi (HITACHI.BIN), change key drive (offset 4f00).c: \IXTREME HITACHI 1.2 +\KEY\HITACHI.BIN
3.- Restore firmware to original version.
4.- When restored firmware is complete select change key.
