Hi guys,
I use a laptop most of the time so dont have any sata ports. Ive spent a good couple of hours searching the net and cant find a definitive solution to my problem. My preferred solution would be to use a USB to sata adapter (mainly due to cost and convenience), alternatively i could use a sata expresscard (i dont have pcmcia).
Ive read what seems like hundreds of forum posts now and found many contradictions. Is it possible to flash and/or backup games using either of the methods i have suggested? (Ive got the samsung drive so cannot use the X360USB adapter).
Thanks for any help.

samsung drives are flashed in d so you cant use a usb adaptor for them as there is no usb drivers in dos

What about the possibiity of flashing in linux? There is a program caled binflash that is made for flashing dvd burner.
i just happened by this post while researching the possibility of flashing my ms28 with the onboard nforce 410/430 sata controller in my LAPTOP. they wont flash a ms28 though. I've never seen someone mention flashing in linux.
If no one replies to this old thread I will start a new one, as I believe it deserves one. Cause in my mind it's a damn god idea

I recall a thread on here where someone flashed their drive with a SATA Express card... so it's at least possible in some circumstances...
I don't think a USB solution will work as it involves drivers for the adapter...
