C4EVA iXTRM HITACHI v1.2 Stealth rev2Posted by Iriez | July 8 17:08 EST | News Category: Xbox360 |
| |
A new firmware has been released for the Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L dvd-rom unit for the xbox360 ..
(v1.2) Hitachi rev2 - Small bugfix to memdump stealth
As a sidenote, the original release will still be quite fine to use on xbox live. This patch is merely theoretical security, and not currently used. For those of you who were getting errors at the end of the batch file, this will fix it. You'll have to wait for fw toolbox.
Anyone with a hitachi v46/47/59 that had sense errors with restoring or flashing, can you please try these updated batch files? It is intended to elimate such errors by eliminating any questionable varibles that dos sometimes has issues with.
The main difference is you'll notice it no longer automatically assignes a varible of your drive (%1). At the prompt it will first ask you what your drive letter is. Simply open up my computer to determine what drive letter your hitachi was assigned. If you cant figure that out, then I advise taking a basic computer class.
ixtreme 1.2 hitachi batch file updates
Drag these into your hitachi 1.2 rev 2 folder, therefore replacing the current bats with the ones contained within the archive.
Those who did not have problems, i would still greatly apreciate if you could help us test, to determine if any issues exist with this batch setup.
All credit for the batch updates go to Lahey. Thanks!

very fast... thanks for the update... just have to wait now for toolbox... it was already finished for the original ixtreme 1.2 release, but carranzafp was waiting for the bug fix before releasing it... It shouldn't take him long... thanks to all those involved...
-
Nice work to all those involved!!!!
Flash went great................nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Keep up the good work
I will flash my drive again tomorow
-
Figures that I would have just flashed 1.2 about 20 minutes before this was released.
At least this time I was smart, and didn't put anything back together. Just did a restore/flash on my 47 with 1.2 rev2, and it's working fine. I tried both an original and backup 360 game, and an original xbox game. All 3 worked without a problem.
Thanks again!
-
Is anyone else failing during the Restore? I have tried it many times and get:
DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to execute flasher (sense 05/26/00)
I get this message at different steps each time. At the end it says Restore of drive to original is 100, but I am getting a lot of unplayable disc and other random problems on my 360. I am using a v46 drive.
-
Thanks alot Commodore4EVA for this release =)
Just did my first flash with this rev 2 on a Hitachi 47DJ, and got a error during the flash. Not sure if its supposed to give this error on a newly flashed 47DJ?

Yeah i got the same error, Flash was all ok tho no errors like it did the firs time with 1.2. Its played every thinging i have shot at it so far.
-
just restart the flash 1 other time if u get error on the 1st step and it will tell u that the sector its done, maybe the others will not flash since are already flashed.
happened to me many times...the only important thing is that u flash all sectors.
bye
-
I really think I messed up my drive or something. I have tried the restore using 2.4 and both these new IXTRM's, but they all fail at some point no matter how many times I run the restore, and every time it seems at different parts of the flash. Sometimes it will fail only 1 step out of the 10 or 11, and sometimes 2.
When I put the drive back into the 360 it boots my Retail Halo 2 disc, but after a minute or so it comes up with the Disc Unreadable message. I think I am screwed, is anyone else having problems?
-
Hi Guys,
First time posting here but I ran into the same problem with this error:
Flashing 1/10 sector 90003000 (Xtreme Custom Code)...
DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to execute flasher (sense: 05/26/00)
I rebooted and while the windows XP loading screen (the one with the moving blue bar) I opened and closed the drive repeatedly and once windows started up, I was able to flash with no problems. Hope this helps you guys out
-
Kidd, thats the same error I am getting at different stages of my restore, but I am using the 360USB connectivity kit. I have no errors when flashing to the modded firmware, only when restoring, but my drive is giving me Disc Unreadable messages with both the restored and modded firmware now.
-
Well, this flasher sucks. It bricked my drive. I went to restore my firmware with it, got some stuff like you were posting, then I couldn't eject my drive. My drive is dead now, luckily I have the key so I can get a new one.
-
QUOTE(Kiddreamr @ Jul 8 2007, 09:24 PM)

Don't know what to tell ya bro... I used the slax cd to get my drive into mode b. Maybe give that a shot?
No problem, I am using a connectivity kit to put it into mode B, Windows sees the drive fine. The stupid thing was working perfectly yesterday on the IXtreme 1.2, but it all went to hell when I updated to this rev2.
I even managed to get a clean restore done, but it's still not right. Now no matter what I got, original or modded firmware, any game Original or Backup becomes unreadable after a minute or so. I am trying to get my retail Halo 2 disc working and I can get up to choosing a level, but when it tries to load I get the Disc is Dirty message, then when back at the dashboard it says Unplayable Disc. This is driving me nuts.
-
can you just check to see if it plays a dvd movie ok?
-
Awesome work as usual C4EVA
but i am no longer running backups on my 360
after having one die on me and the fear of being banned my box is staying 100% stock
only thing thats gonna get me to break the seal on this 360 is a real modchip
home brew baby

Using v1.2 rev2 I got a bunch of errors the first time I tried to restore and flash today. The second time everything worked 100%. iXtreme Hitachi v1.2 worked fine, no errors, yesterday. I heard c4eva changed some of the flashing tools with rev2, so maybe something got messed up.
-
QUOTE(Ogrt48 @ Jul 9 2007, 12:19 AM)

I got those same errors during restore yesterday and then again today. I went ahead and flashed since the restore said 100% complete at the end.. Been playing games for hours after 1.2 yesterday and more hours tonight after rev2, everything is working as it should for me.
What version drive are you using?

Please be aware that this error has been happening on hitachi drives for a very long time. It is possibly a bug with flashsec, but more likely a modeb/detection error.
Have you guys inserted a disc into the drive for 30 seconds before flashing to see if that fixes it?
From what I know, lots of people have gotten this error with hitachi's since the first version of any hacked firmware was released. You just have to keep running the process until it successfully flashes ALL sectors. If section 2 fails, then reflash until section 2 gets flashed.
A very big warning, DO NOT stop your process, whether restoration or flashing, until you have successfully completed! Do not turn off your drive. Run that bat 20 times if need be. This advice has been given since

Well, better email SeventhSon and other associated members who created this flashing system over a year ago.
When something fails, you dont turn off your drive and hope for the best. You keep doing it until it runs successfully.

Good to hear, I was starting to think I was alone in my problems

Just follow my advice above and hopefully all will be well. Perhaps fw toolbox will help you out when its released tomorrow.
Also, those of you with sense errors, what sata chipset are guys using?
-
QUOTE(shooks20 @ Jul 9 2007, 12:21 AM)

Hey Iriez, I repeated the RESTORE.bat process until each one was correctly done. But even after that, I still could not play any game or dvd for more than a minute then it freezes, do you think my drive is screwed or is this the problem that is being worked on? I have a 46 drive. Thanks.
edit: just saw your reply above, is the toolbox for v46 drives?
Thats a very odd problem. One that i've personally not heard of. You are positive no such thing was occuring before using the restore? Also, what version were you running before you ran the restore?

Hi
First i want to say hello to you guys, im new here
Ive important question ..
Yesterday i flashed succesfully my Hitachi 46D from Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.3 Stealth 8in1
up to to new IXTRME 1.2 (rev1)
To get my Drive in Mode B , i simply had to start the 360 with open Disc Tray...nice
Will this Method worky anymore with the iXTRM 1.2, or was it only possible with flashed GaryOPA 2.3 8in1 ?

but where do i download the new rev2 update ? xbins just has the nfo ?!

Im using a Sammy drive right now, but what seems to work for me with HLG drives is ejecting & closing the drive during every step of the reading/flashing. It's kind of annoying, but everything passes 100% everytime.

Yes, well one of the intentions of Garyopa was to create a all-in-one stable hitachi flasher, but then his pc crashed, and then he restored it, and then the xblive ban's started happening, and punk kids blamed him for their xbox's getting banned and decided to trash his office and steal his computer, and a whole slew of crap. So, long story short, its been majorly delayed.
Funny to think that the direct actions of some punk kids has severly delayed progress in this scene (which includes a benq software flash method aswell)
-
Just want to say that I flashed both 1.2 and rev2 successfully on my v59. Had the mode sense error twice the first time when flashing 1.2 but just kept restoring until it completed without errors. rev2 restored and flashed fine on the first try. I remember having the same error a year ago when I did it the first time so it's definitely not new.
The problem shooks20 have is probably resulting from a dirty or badly calibrated lens(or both). Remember that the drive is spinning at 12x now when reading so it gets more picky with the media and the condition the lens is in.
Edit: Forgot to say thanks to c4eva and the rest of the scene for the great work!

QUOTE(Peak0001 @ Jul 9 2007, 06:13 AM)

But it still does not have to flash all 11 areas consecutively, does it???
Most of the times I run restore I get a few errors, on say 4 and 9. Next time I get it on 2 and 11. Do you still have to continue til you get all 11 done IN ONE BATCH?
I seem to remember that you did not have to do that before, and I cannot dream of why you would need it now either... But it feels a bit uncertain...
Further to that, once restore is done you can start flashing without restaring computer or Xbox, right?
Nope, I never kept going. I always stopped when the previous sectors that failed finally flashed successfully. I would still have 1 or 2 errors when I was done but they previously passed.
I have never restarted the PC or Xbox between restoring and flashing to the new fw. So far this has worked very well for me. I just go right into flashing after a successful restore.
Peace,
Matrix961

After getting the step 1 IO error i took apart the box again (even though it seems to work fine) and used the Restore in Rev2 and reflashed again without rebooting and it passed it all on first try =) heres the log og my 2nd flash:

Question
Is Rev2 working like intended ? is it safe to flash my V47 drive with it ?
i flashed my drive with IX V1.2 yestorday dont know if i got a error i thought the program redid sectors that failed and when it said 100 done u can now safeley turn off your system that everything was ok.
My Games work perfect with my v1.2 flash tho Backups and Originals.
So should i update the firmware ? is it needed and next question is it safe ? seams alot of ppl are getting read errors with Rev2
-
Flashed this on a Hitachi v59 with no problems. Also spoofed the drive to a samsung ms28 (on a ms25) using firmware toolbox with no problems.
Everything is working well. I did notice one slightly odd thing: a backup of Burnout Revenge will work on this firmware even though it does not work on v1.2 of the samsung ixtreme. Tested several other incompatible games and they were all shot down (properly) by the new firmware.
Thanks to C4e - GaryOPA - Maximus - and anyone else that spent time on this! Your work is truly appreciated....
-
Thanks for all your time and effort with this guys. Much appreciated!
-
Hi
If i don`t have my Original FW to restore, where can i get it from?
-
you dont need it for hitachi's m8 , just run the restore.bat file from the firmware package.
p.s are you the guy i have on my friends list?
-
Thank you for your great effort.Hoping to hear v79 getting flashed soon too.
-
Oh man.... it was one hell of an experience flashing my Hitachi 47DJ. everything went perfect the first time like it should.
only bad thing that happened was i lost all of my fingernails. that's how scared I was since this was my first time actually doing it myself
-
i have a brand new unflashed 47dj in my xbox at the moment, the boxes ive done before have been sammys, after reading all the horror stories on here about bricking drives before i start id like to get the key off my 47dj how do i do this on a hitachi? many thanks
-
Hi
I used restore last night on my 360 and got a couple of errors while flashing, but got 100% at the end. Then I reflashed it with the lastest 1.2 rev 2 and got no errors when flashing.......
Do I have anything to worry about??? have been on it a few times today with no apparant problems....
-
Restore and flash to 1.2rev2 went fine here. Great work!
By the way: The flasher of 1.2rev2 ist the same as in 1.2. So I don't think the chance of bricking is higher with rev2.
-
i just flashed with rev 2 , my xbox needs 2 ejects to close is for some reason , backups work fine ,any ideas, was fine with rev1

The hitachi version handles the video data in a slightly different way. Some backups that may fail stealth check on mulleter may boot on the hitachi. We are however, not very worried about this. Verification on video data is never going to be a option for MS.
So, the word to the wise is to always use mulleter to check your stealth patches before burning
In regards to the restoration and flashing process, no, it does not have to go 100% all in one fell swoop. You can run it a 100 times, all that matters is that each section was successfully restored or flashed, be it 1-4 first try, and 5-11 second try.

RTMv3 was a internal version listing, guess i forgot to change the folder before releasing. Yes, RTMv3 = rev2

i use the power supply from my 360 without any problems and i can still connect to live just fine...

heh, I guess you guys are more cautious about flashing...
when I restored my 59DJ drive, I got 2 of those I/O errors.. but in the end, it gave me the 100% successful..
so I just went ahead and flashed with the 1.2v2,... and I again received about 2 I/O errors during flashing... but it gave me the 100% successful.
So.. I figured, that was good enough.. put together my xbox and... so far so good. been on live and everything. we'll see what happens.
-
at first i was pissed that this release was shot, but then i realized i was trying to run a non stealth disc, so anyone out there having read issues, make sure your running a stealth image!
now i gotta tear the thing apart again and flash it one more time....what a pain
-
Well, great relaese once again, thaks to everyone who worked on it.
There do seem to be some common errors when restoring, i am especially seeing alot at 4, 9, 10. For any one new who isn't sure what to do when you get any errors when restoring, the best thing to do is watch and right down the errors and then re-run the restore, then if the second time round the areas where you were getting the errors now say done, and even if you get new errors in diferent ares that were fine before it dosn't matter becasue they were flashed the first time round. Basically run it again until you know all areas were flashed at least once.
I didn't have any errors at all with the new flashing, just the restore.
The only other thing I found different this time on my 47, was when using Slax to get it in B mode I wasn't 100% convinced it was in mode B becasue if you go off what it says in the text book and also what I have seen before, it is supposed to take 2 presses of the eject button to open the drive as well as when you close the drive it should auto eject again about a second later. This time my drive did take 2 pushes of the eject to open and 2 to close but it didn't auto eject again, but flashed perfectly. Don't know if that has happend to anyone else before but it was a first for me.
Anyway great release keep up the good work (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Hum,
when restoring my h46 I had 1 i/o error at the ixtreme part then got 100% too,
at the rev2 flashing I had no error.
Btw is it needed to reboot the 360 after a restore before reflashing ?

My first flash (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)... unplugged video, booted slax, reboot pc, open/close dvd drive while booting repeatedly, once I see my desktop launch flashix.bat! 100% works great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
-
Booted up using slax 2, ejected a few times, restored from max/gary 2_3_rev2, then to IXtrem 1.2_rev2 and works like a charm, reads all my games on all diff types of media. Fuji,RiData,Verbatim.

is this right this is all the stuff that got saved before it got flashed.
47_16.bin
47_16s.bin
key.bin
now.bin
was.bin
is this what all of yours looks like my drive is 47 plz help me thanks.

I had EXACTLY the same with my 59DJ and I did the same thing, Restore and FLASH both reported 100% Success in the end even tho there were 2 errors during restore and during flash.
So should I reflash again?
(I've run tests since flashing and None Stealth Backups are correctly being rejected now)

Same thing with my 47DJ but what i did is REstore it about 3 tiems because you always get 2 errors but sometimes for example its 6 & 9. If you restore it again the error will be 3&7. So aslong as u restore about 2-3 times it will restore the line that previously failed, if that makes sence to u guys.

Question, has anyone flashed the Hitachi in Vista?
-
My drive is flashed with XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2 and when i try to restore I get the error: "WARNING: A required iXtreme file is missing!" i've tried to restore with the restore.bat form the XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2 release but i get the same error. I use the exact same setup as always.
So I've given up and decidet to restore with FWToolbox 4.0, but is it safe? I have the original firmware dump from previous flash can i just choose Differential Flash (RESTORE) i FWT4.0 with my original FW loaded?

I flashed mine in vista home premium once
Now ive installed ultimate and it doesn;t work anymore, so i use XP safe mode for flashing now (dual boot)

I flashed my 47dj to 1.2 no errors, then spoofed to 78fk. All working good:D

can anyone give a guide how to flash <59 drives in the new firmware toolbox? thanks

I flashed mine with vista 32 Ultimate without any issues

hitachis bats for flashing/restore and toolbox works fine with windows vista, the only important thing is that the drive is recognized by the system. if it recognized correctly, flash will work fine.
flashed many drives with vista and no probs.

Hey guys, i wanted to test something in the name of science (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Got a fellow here who changed the restore.bat file so that the drive was not a assumed varible. Before that, no matter how many times he tried it would not restore sectors 3 or 7. Afterwards, with the new bat file, he could restore just fine.
Anyone having a issue restoring, give this a try and see if it helps.
PS- This is for v59 drive's only. Do NOT use this on any other version. I will get the other version's asap.

Hi,
I have run this update and it appears to have gone throught fine - my xbox was banned from live and it still is so thats all ok too. The problem i have is that about 70% of my current working back ups dont work anymore.. any news ones that I cant so far dont work either. is there anyone know has experienced this?
my firmware is a 47 hitachi.
thanks
-
For the person above me there is a simple sollution to your answer i believe. Ill put it out in numbered form.
1. The new firmware will ONLY PLAY stealth games.
2. Unstealthed games got people banned (speculation.)
Im betting that 70% of your games are not stealthed and because of this, you are banned because you played them and it logged ur 360 as playing non stealth games to be banned.
Gt
-
since you have a hitachi, asmentionned^^, it is likely that many of the backups you have made are not properly stealth.
they should be redone from the original, with xbcreator/schtrom and a Kreon drive (or samsung fw 5.3 or before)

I am really confused here, I was using an old firmware maxymus 2.2 I think (excuse the spelling). everything was fine except I was suddenly banned from live. No problem as I did not really use it that much anyway - I have since upgrade my firmware to the new 1.2 R2 and suddenly over 70% of my discs dont work . I get the standard unrecognised disk error. I have checked at some of the games are stealth patched but still dont boot. The media is fine as they are all verbatium. What can I do? should I put an older firmware back on and if so what is the best firmware for playing games offline on the Hitachi 47 drive?
Thanks

If you are already banned, then it is probably best for you to be running xtreme firmware instead on ixtreme... this will allow you to boot games that are not properly stealth patched... To check games for stealth patching use mulleter 9.7...

Just use one of the older versions like 2.3...
You'll get a lot more compatibility with badly patched games.
Since you're banned already it doesn't make any sense using the 1.2 version as it'll just not play them.

Hi there,
Its my 1st post on here, just wondered if anyone has similar problems to me with 1.2:
I flashed my Hitachi v47 with Xtreme 2.4 stealth a while back, working fine, using on live also. Got the 1.2 rev 2 and tried a restore through 1.2 - no good - I get the message:
either
a- not in mode B
b- not recognized in windows
c- not right 360 version
I know for sure it wasn't a- and b- so I presumed 1.2 doesn't flash v47 drives.
I then tried a restore through 2.4 and it restored 100%,
I tried to Flash with 1.2 and got the same message as above a- b- c-,
so I just flashed with 2.4 again, worked 100%. So until I read this topic I was sure 1.2 didn't flash v47 drives - it obviously does tho.
Any1 had the same message, know the problem or can say if its safe enough on live to keep using 2.4?
TIA. Matt.

It is absolutly 100% NOT safe to use 2.4 on live. You will get banned very very quickly. I dont know if there is a tutorial for flashing v47 drives with fw toolbox, but i would recommend doing that if the bat files are not working for you. Have you verified that the drive exists as a letter in windows?

Thanks for the response,
I have 2 drives in my base unit, when I had my 360 in mode B, the device manager showed 3 drives, I used the eject command in My Computer and it ejected the 360 drive, surely this must mean that drive is in mode B and detected in windows?

Hi, yes if windows recognises it and will eject it your deffinatley in mode b. Are you taking note of the drive letter that windows assigns for the 360 drive and then using it when typing the restore command.
There is deffinatley no problem restoring and flashing a 47 as I did mine the other day, so you need to be sure your typing the commands correctly becasue this is dos based and dosn't have hundreads of messages for each problem, so you will get the same error message for lots of different problems.
Maybe post exactly what you think you should type so people can see if you are using the right commands.

I have command prompt power toy installed on my pc, so I right click on the 1.2 folder icon and scroll to open command prompt here, in command prompt I type either:
- "RESTORE G" or

with the G being the drive letter assigned for my 360 by windows.
I'm gonna try and flash with toolbox this weekend to see if that works.

I am not an expert but I was having a somewhat similar problem with 1.2. What helped me was that after restore I had to restart the windows before trying 1.2 rev 2. DO NOT turn off your xbox just restart windows and that worked for me. Another thing to do is to make sure your xtreme 1.2 files are in a folder with a simple and short name preferably in the root folder of a drive e.g. C:\X12. These two things seemed to have resolved it for me.

Hey,
Anyone tried to flash on XP x64 edition ??
I get an error when trying to run the restore program.
"The program or feature c:\temp\c4eva\gethitv.exe cannot start or run, due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit windows compatible version is available"
Anyone else getting this or is there a workaround (apart from installing x86 xp or vista)
Thx

well as far as i can tell i have a completely different problem, i have 0047dj which is connected to pc with connectivity kit it registers fine in windows as drive E but when i start the flashix or restore through com prompt like this: C:\c4eva\restore.bat e it says there is a missing file, so, downloaded again from different source and get the same message tried again from yet a different source and again got the same message this also posts if i type in C:\c4eva\flashix.bat E (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
one thing i think it might be is that my drive as been previously flashed by somebody else and i dont know the methods or the fw version used, so, if anyone as any ideas, please get back to me or any advice on which program might be most useful
i connect straight to mboard (asus p5w dh deluxe) and use conn kit for power in mode b(tried tray open and closed) same result everytime. got rev 2 from xbins so as anybody else had the error of missing files needed (does`nt say what file)

go into the folder itself to begin with and it should work, by that i mean
cd\c4eva and press enter/reutrn and it should then change on screen to
C:\c4eva>
and then just type restore.bat e after the prompt and that should work (obviously enter/return button after it so should like like below on screen)
C:\c4eva>restore.bat e
and like I said that should work (going by the folder and drive letter you have posted above)
also when you go to flash it to Ixtreme you need to put 4 numbers after the drive letter or it wont do it.

Thanks!

The sense error's were caused by incompatible varibles within dos. These new batch files use only known working varibles at a basic environment, to help prevent such 'sense' errors.

I think my dvd drive is bricked ...
I have a Blaster360 on a Hitachi 46 that gets it into modeb b. I previously had xtreme v2.4 flashed and it was all ok (except I never went on live)
Did a restore from iXtreme 1.2 rev2 - got a few IO errors but it eventually it went throu 100%
reboot
Did a flash of 1.2 rev2 100% OK
Hooked up 360 to tv, it boots to dash but power light rapid flashing green and dashboard tray saying opening. I can neither open tray via eject button or selecting it on dash.
I did another restore, all went throu OK. but having same results when connected again. Tray wont open.
Have I somehow bricked my drive ?
I do have an orig.bin and the key.txt from when I originally did the 2.4 flashing. Can someone help please ?
cheers
-
Does the release get the hitachi into mode B by pulling the power liek the older versions did?
-
not sure exactly what you mean ?
When I connect with the Blaster360 (and external power block) it goes into mode b (blue light on Blaster360 and visible in windows as DVD-ROM D:).
From here the Blaster360 eject button does allow me to open/close dvd tray. I can also still do restore and/or flashix.
Its just that when connected back up (to tv and its own power supply) the dvd tray wont open. The Blaster360 also doesnt light up its usual green colour.
I was going to try and flash my orig.bin back on to it with mtkflash from a bootable USB that I'd previously made using BootMaker. Is that a good idea or will it make things worse ?
thanks

Fatmatt..Are you using xecuter connectivity kit to connect as i have had this exact problem with a v59 and a v47 this week and thought it was me.
Also are you using Windows Vista, i dont know if this makes a difference but something just isnt right here.
Sorry, just seen you use the blaster360 to get into modeb.

I checked in XDVD mulleter yesterday and 2 of them were extreme compatible with all boxes checked but PGR3 gave me an error saying PFI invalid so I ran the CRC autofix and it done some changes and said every thing is fixed, I checked the image contents and I can see the files in XDVD mulleter 9, any one know if this will be 100% iXtreme compatible, the box was checked but I still don't understand how it repaired the files and what did it do.
it didnt repair 'files', it re-patched your PFI to the correct one. It fixes anything that is incorrect automatically. If it has ixtreme 1.2 checked then your fine.

I tried the new batch files for restoring and re-flashing my 59DJ. The restore.bat still had sense errors every time I tried it. The flash worked without a hitch. I have however, just yesterday, started having problems reading backups. Worked fine since release of rev2, now won't boot backups, only originals. That's why I thought I'd try out the new batch files. Hope this info is useful.

Hey guys,
Been trying to flash my v78 drive all afternoon.
I've been trying to restore first but I read (I can't remember on what page) that you need the original firmware for v78 drives to restore them
The thing is, I don't have the original firmware.
Am I able to make one?
Also, once I have it what do I do with it to integrate it into C4EVA's flasher?
Thanks a lot!

Does this firmware have the same features as the samsung iXtrm 2.1 version C?

Yes , except the slow read speed . I'm not sure if it supports what 1.2 C on the samsung though...

(v1.2 RevC) Failed Stealth backups report normal disc information
This release patches the stealth information from NON-stealth disc's, so that the invalid info is not sent over live when the disc does not boot.
QUOTE(hg_gt @ Jul 20 2007, 08:39 AM)

2. M$ creates a NEW generated feed to capture MORE info (look at the 13th/14th). In this im GUESSING it captures a non-boot due to non-stealth compatibility.
QUOTE(xbox360sexual @ Jul 20 2007, 10:39 AM)

This detection was first seen a few days ago
So the question is: Does Hitachi v1.2 rev2 provide for the new detection? Based on the dates of the current Hitachi firmware release (July 8) and the new checks (13th/14th), I'm presuming a new Hitachi build is in development.
Can someone with information regarding this please confirm that a new build is being worked on, confirm that the existing build addresses the new detection method, or otherwise clarify.
TIA

maybe searching the iXtreme 1.2 c thread to see if someone asked will this be brought to Hitachi? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
and this was the answer from Iriez
QUOTE(Iriez @ Jul 21 2007, 04:21 AM)

Yes, have you wondered perhaps that if there IS an answer?
Because there is not. There is no word yet if a hitachi release will be done, or if it NEEDS to be done. Keep in mind we are talking about two entirely different drives with entirely different firmwares. Some things that are neccessary on hitachi are not neccessary on samsung, or vice versa.
so no assumption that anything is in the work or even needed should be done.
Note, extremely important, that if your backups are A1 as far as stealth is concerned, this will make no difference. Also, if they are not , it does not mean that you get identified by this, it is infact not likely, so the 1.2c was more a security as per
QUOTE(Iriez @ Jul 20 2007, 05:01 AM)

...
For clarification (By Iriez):
This release prevents stealth data from being logged by a unsuccessful boot. That does NOT mean 1.2b was unsafe. A unmodified original xbox that gets a backup put into it would reply the same exact way as 1.2b would. This is a theoretical patch for a likely never-to-be used method for MS to ban people (think logically for a second here guys, and then after your done, think legally too.)

Thanks for the firmware. But i have a problem. I just swapped a motherboard, and my hitachi 46 is now spoofed as a hitachi 59 and i replaced the key with firmwaretool 4.0 . I restored my drive first, after that i flashed it with this version 1.2 rev2 . The problem is , i cant read any originals . I dont have backups currently that are stealth that are made to work with this firmware. Does anyone now why my xbox is saying Please insert an 360 disk, when i insert a original ?? I dont know what to do, if i check my firmware with firmwaretool 4.0, the key is succesfully replaced, and its spoofed as it is used to hitachi 46d to a hitachi 59dj.
If anyone can help me, i appreciate it.

Anyone with a hitachi v46/47/59 that had sense errors with restoring or flashing, can you please try these updated batch files?
Hi,
first of all, I'd like to thank you and the staff behind #xbins.
I did experience sense errors during the restore (Drive was a v59), so I tried the the new batch files. The iXtreme.bat had a mismatching md5 sum, by the way. My sense errors did not go away with the new batch files but I achieved a successful flash anyway by rebooting my machine and ejecting the drive twice during the xp loading screen - I did not do this when I first tried to restore it. After doing this, both the old resores and the new restore worked fine.
The flashing of the new firmware worked fine as well, the drive boots backups and originals, no errors so far.
I used the X360 USB and the connectivity Kit for ModeB and external Molex Power Supply, if this is important to you. The system I flashed with was a P965 based System with the ICH8 Southbridge and Windows XP Professional 32Bit.
Hope this helps,
Stef

Can anybody confirm if they have been able to use this version to flash a Hitachi 46 firmware using a ICH7 SATA controller?
Ive spent hours on it today to get no where, in the past i have flashed samsungs and the 78 Hitachi's. I can get the drive into Mode B and to be detected in XP, i then run the batch file and it makes a backup of the firmware and then starts the flashing method , no errors get reported during the 10 or 11 steps.
However when i reboot the 360 it only boots originals and after putting it back into mode B and comparing the firmware with a backup i made before i attempted the flash, they are exactly the same, so although im getting no errors it appears that no firmware is getting written to the drive. Ive checked the directories and files it creates and there is a difference between the was.bin and now.bin files, so it looks like the files are getting created correctly, just that no firmware modification is actually happening (even though im getting the DONE msg and no errors).
Any info/help would be greatly appreciated.

Quick question...
My drive is currently flashed with the very first modded firmware that was released way back when. Do i need to restore to the original firmware using the original files i have or can i just run the restore file included in this new release and then flash using the new files?

The firmware works perfect with a hitachi 59, and all my backups run with the 59, but when i put them in the 47dh it says disc unreadable or unplayable or something like that.. ???? Any help?

Anybody know if C4EVA will make 2x, 5x, 8x, 12x speed selection to the hitachi firmware like they did for BenQ and Samsung? I read a post that said Hitachi's are not possible to speed adjust through firmware, that true?

looking at the efnet channel everybody will be happy soon:
Topic is 'Hitachi iXtreme MultiSpeed + non-stealth capable version coming soon
So C4eva is working on it
REMINDER:
THERE'S TOTALLY NO ETA SO DO NOT ASK WHEN IT WILL BE RELEASED
it will be there when it is there!

That'd be awsome! My Hitachi is way too loud, around 3x as loud as any dvd drive I've ever heard for a PC, so I'll use 5x for sure! What would we do without C4EVA?

Can I use the FLASHIX and RESTORE command to flash a 0078FK? (with this one C4EVA_iXTRM-HITACHI_v1_2_Stealth).
I did use flashix on my 0047 Hitachi and that worked out well.
Or do i have to do like this: http://www.team-xecu.../hitachi078.htm ?

I am curious if anyone is having any media reading issues. I had my Hitatchi moded with the very 1st release, and now just decided I would switch to the newest version, however since then all my backups that were reading just fine all get the dirty disc or unable to read disc error.
I use verbs and Ritek dvd's, for over a year they all ran fine on the Commodore4Eva's Xtreme DVD firmware for Hitachi-LG v1.1 (v46 / v47)
any suggestions from anyone?
TIA

hi,
need some help. i've flashed the Samsung numerous time, but this is the first time i'm flashing a Hitachi and i'm totally confused.
I have a 0079FL. Do i follow the same procedure as a 78drive?
I looked at textbook's guide. it uses Firware Tookbox. I cannot get it to dump my firmware using the "RAW DUmp Firmware As" even though i have my drive in mode b. also How do you load 1.2 rev2 into firmware toolbox? Is this guide outdated?
Is there a tutorial on how to flash iXtreme 1.2 rev2?
You cannot flash a v79 drive without first installing the 79 passkey chip. It requires fairly advanced soldering skills. And, no there is no way to do it without the chip.

Ok everyone, I have a question or two.
I just got back my kids 360 from repair. When I sent it in it had a Samsung MS25, now it has a Hitachi GDR3120L Rom Ver 0047DH. I am thankful that it does not have the 0079 but I do wish it still had the Sammy.
As far as my questions, I have never flashed a Hitachi and wanted to make sure I do it right. Will this hitachi drive still have the same key as my old sammy? Is there a tutorial that is best for my situation? Any help would be appreciated.
I do have a VIA 6421 Sata that worked well with my Sammy's if that matters with the Hitachis. Sorry if my post is jumbled, my mind is racing as I am upset I lost the Sammy.
