Title: C4eva Xtreme 2.4
Post by: yabba on May 16, 2007, 01:16:00 AM
Hi, i should help a friend to flash his hitachi v78. But when i check the xtreme 2.4 i cant use that one as i think its not support v78, so I extracted the rar-archive with all firmwares, and there is a 78_16.bin in there.
But when i compare the firmware already flashed into thew drive and this new one, there seems to be exact the same. Isnt there any new fw to the v78 with jitter 5/7 support?

if flashing a 78FK, then u do not use xtreme 2.4 (by c4e) but use fw toolbox 3.1b repack (by maximus) - this supports flashing the Hitachi 0078 drives..

If you using the Toolbox v3.1b you don't need any firmwares.
Just read the included "TUTORIAL.TXT" file, it explains everything.
Basically you do a RAW DUMP on your V78, save it, do a SMART HACK PATCH, save it. Then do a FLASH PATCH and you are all go to good afterwards and your drive will be running v1.7
BUT --- If the v78 drive is already flashed with an older Xtreme firmware, you need to open the original firmware for THAT drive, and then do a FLASH RESTORE, then you again upgrade.
AGAIN -- Everything you need to know is included in the "TUTORIAL.TXT" file inside Toolbox v3.1b
