Here is the situation. I have a TS-H943 drive in my 360, which was having problems reading discs. I thought my drive was going bad, so I ordered a new one. Come to find out, the problem was my DVD+DL burner was crapping out on me. So now I have 2 perfectly good TS-H943 drives.
I want to put the other TS-H943 in my computer, but I don't want to have to insert the 0800 disc every time I turn it on. I also don't want to just leave the 0800 disc in there, because it will probably burn out the drive in a month or so.
This leads me to my question: Are there any Xtreme firmwares that stay in ModeB permanently, and are version 3.0 or later? The reason I want a firmware that is v3.0 or later, is because v3.0 is when they implemented DMI and PFI sector extraction. I know the original v1.0 Xtreme package came with a xtrm0800.bin, which was a permanent ModeB FW. But when the 0800 mode switcher DVD was implemented in v2.0, the xtrm0800.bin went away.
If no FW exists, does anyone know if there is a way to edit a firmware so its permanetly in ModeB?
