Title: Bad Flash? Bad Dvd Drive? Or Bad Xbox? Please Help
Post by: shuhead on January 21, 2007, 10:47:00 AM
HEy guys,

I have a Hitachi 47 which has been flashed with the latest Garyopa (2.3 rev 2).  The problem I am having deals with original games and backed up games.  I get about 2 minutes into the game (I get past the initial load, and the initial game menu) I hear a loud either beep (or screech) and the the xbox locks up.  The drive keeps spinning but the game is frozen.  I have re-flashed the drive twice.  Should I try different firmware?  IS the problem with the drive laser itself?  DO I need to replace my DVD drive?  If so where would I find one?

Also no ring of death either at any point.

Not even 2 and a half hours and you bump this? Give it some time, and only one bump a day.

Moving to a more appropriate forum as well.

Restore your drive and see if it still functions the same way.  I highly doubt that it is the firmware doing this but it is worth a try.  Maybe your drive is going downhill.
