Hi Everyone,
Well I just wanted to confirm I was able to flashed my first ms28 using bad flash recovery, the Xecuter connectivity kit v1.0, and a 6421a card.
Here is my setup
6421a sata card.
Xecuter connectivity kit version 1.0
Xtreme Boot Maker V.0.3.6
Xtreme firmware v5.2
Steps
1) Prepare the usb key and patch mtkflash using XBM. For the mtkflash patching I chose the "Via raid controller" from the list, detected the io ports, checked ON both options (ms28 drives, and bad flash recovery).
2) Connect the ms28 to the PC, power it on.
3) Ran "mtkflash r /sata /m orig.bin
3) Made sure Xtreme chipset WAS detected, but NOT selecting it.
4) Carefully disconnected molex power connecter from the conn kit, powering off the drive.
5) Selected the Xtreme chipset device
6) Waited 10 seconds
7) Plugged the power back in.
8) Should start reading the firmware at this point.
Now with the orig.bin I prepared the hacked firmware (using the scripts included in the 5.2 release).
Same procdure to flash it as reading, but run "mtkflash w /sata /m x52a.bin".
CAUTION: BE VERY CAREFULL with plugging and un-plugging the drive.
I am modifying the v1 conn kit with a on/off power switch for future flashing.
Will post screens or more details on request.
