*** Mods, this may need to be in the hardware section but I thought it would be more usefull here becasue the majority of people that will use this are browsing htis forum section.
Ok by request here is my EZ mod that allows you to have your 360 ready to flash in under 1 minute and saves you the trouble of opening the case ever again. You can do this for under $20 (+shipping) or $5 (plus shipping) if you already have a SATA -PCI Card.
Ok first off you ned the following
1. SATA - PCI Card with Extrernal ports (external porst save you from opening PC case. If you need one I have this one and it works great. SATA PCI Card
2. SATA adapter Cable. (SATA Cable)
Installation.
1. Open 360 case and unplug SATA Cable from DVD Drive.
2. Connect the 360 SATA Cable to the SATA Adapter cable (above) and connect the other end of tyhe SATA Adapter to the 360 drive.
3. Cut a whole in your grey cover (below the hard drive and the metal shielding so you can access the cable through the top of the case when closed.
4. Arrange cable in 360 so that it fits well and will be able to be pulled out of the case when needed.(I use a pair of needle nose to grab mine)
5. CLose up case and reinstall hard drive.
**Now when you want to flash your 360 simply ***SEE Pics Below
1. Remove the Hrd drive
2. Pull cables out of case.
3. Unplug SATA Cables
4. Plug red cable adapter into long regular SATA Cable
5. Plug SATA Cable to back of PC
Your Done!!
Please let me know if anyone has any questions.
* ! note I shaved the excess plastic from the SATA Cable Adapter so that it fits in the case better. You can do this with an exact knowfe.

Yea, that's a perfect mod for for firmware updating. Aside from the slight [generally hidden] aesthetic penalty, it's perfectly functional. I actually did this mod a few months back by taking one of these things apart and applying it:

Mine's a bit less aesthetically pleasing yet, but even easier to use because i dont have to remove the hard drive.

Good work. Just to give others another idea to go with here is the one I did a few months back, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=513488
Overall I like Textbook's method the most, he did about the same as mine except his SATA ports replace his memory card ports (or it might have been the USB ports, lol).

I don't think I ever actually got to see Textbook's mod, the pictures had lost their hosting. That sounds like a sweet setup.

Yes, this was not my ORIGINAL idea. But with all the updates comming out I thought I would share my experimce with some of the newer members or people that missed it a few months ago.
Im not trying to take any business away from Team executer by promoting this, however it seems silly to me to drop $50 on something that can be acomplished for $4.99 and a little dremel work.
Glad you guys enjoy!
