Title: Help Please, Getting An Error Writing To Drive Hitachi 0047
Post by: humpadilly on January 01, 2007, 11:57:00 PM
Hello all,

I have just got a replacement drive from Ebay, 0047D.

the drive actually makes my PC really slow, it managed to go into modeB with the latest SLAX CD....

I have managed to read the firmware off the new drive so i could write my old drive key to it. but when i go to flash the new key+firmware back to the drive, i get the following error.

C:\X-LG>47flash e orignew-e.bin 90004000 1000
DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to stop the disc (sense: 02/04/01)

any idea?

PS the drive appears in Device manager as: HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR3120L

CHIPSET: FW82801ER
INTEL MAINBOARD D865PERL

Hi humpadilly,

I am having exactly the same problem with a 0047D drive from ebay. Did you solve it?

Best regards

It seems that you have a pc related problem.Just buy sil3112 sata card(numbers could be wrong,if so,somebody can correct) and flash your drive.Try a new XP with all the updates and drivers+ net framework 1.1 and 2.0.After putting the drive into modeB,just reboot pc,do not turn it off.You can also try to reboot while the 360's tray is opened.During modeB,you need to hit the eject button twice.That's also the way to understand if you're in modeB or not.Hope it helps.
