That's true - how long after connecting would a modded XBox1 last before being banned?

I can confirm originals and backups still work after the dash update and are still playable on live.

Although your effort is appreciated it hardly matters as M$ may well have just installed the detection program and are waiting for the right moment in time to flick the "off" switch server-side.

We all know the risks associated with flashing drives - a total ban from xbox live.  It boils down to one simple question, how much would you actually miss live?  If you can't live without it, don't flash your drive!

On a more interesting note, banning flashed xboxes from live does actually present M$ with an interesting dilema.

In the past there was only a single revenue stream (the sale of game discs), now there is a competing and opposing revenue stream which directly conflicts with the sale of game discs, it's called xbox marketplace.  At this moment in time the only way to access the content on xbox marketplace is to pay for it, and banning lots of people from xbox live would axe this guaranteed revenue stream.

How long will it be before discs are a thing of the past and all content has to be gotten through the online system?  I'll leave you all to think a little more on this one.

DONT DO IT IF U HAVE A MS28 FIRMWARE DRIVE IT IS REPORTING BACK WITH ERROR 66

Do you mean a drive which *was* flashed with ms28 when purchased and has since been flashed with C4eva?

I thought there was no difference in hardware between an ms28 and an ms25?

If you could explain a bit more it would be really helpful. Apologies if I'm just missing the obvious.

Hello a lot a nervous people about so I decided to play Guinea pig. I can confirm originals and backups still work after the dash update and are still playable on live. However Burnout revenge will not connect but could be a problem with the server.

thanks dude, at least its slightly encouraging to know ms25 with xtreme 3.2 have no problem.

ppl with ms28 dont have suck luck...

this is very intereting, i thought xtreme 4.0+ would prevent microsfot briek the system by preventing them to update DVD firmware. But something as simple as hardware conflict error (either intentional or unintentional by microsoft) would effectively ruin any DVD firmware patching...

It could be really simple and I don't see M$ blocking only MS=28 users if they had put something in place it would have bricked all Modded Drives. The MS=25 still working proves this as it isn't much different to the MS=28.
