Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.2 - Revised BatsPosted by XanTium | October 9 14:23 EST |
| |
Maximus released a .bat fix for Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.2 Stealth 8in1:
Maximus_garyOPA_2_2_Stealth_RevisedBats.rar Here are Revised bats for the "Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_2_Stealth" package previously released. just copy this bats over the existing ones into your drive.
The previous bats have a bug with errorlevel variable (my mistake, not garyOPA).
NOTE: If you have sucessfully flashed your drive with the 2.2 Stealth package NO NEED TO REFLASH AGAIN SINCE THERE IS NO PROBLEM ON THE FLASHED DRIVE. For new drives you flash it is better to have this revisted bats to avoid possible problems (NONE Reported here).
Also if you RE-DOWNLOAD the "Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_2_Stealth" package from the "usual places" will contain the revised bats (Added on 9-Oct-2006).

With this flash program you only need the one comand promt.
FLASH22S.BAT G 1234
G: Being the example drive letter assigned.
This firmware will NOT flash unless a successful backup has been created.
PS. This program is to be used in windows within a DOS window.

yet another reason not to use anything by Maximus.....
-
well Mr. Maximus, you are not instilling me with alot of confidence.
the least you could do to take ownership for your mistake is to release the revised package with a new filename/version.
-
Will this work in an 64-bit windows?

Why new version? the bug have nothing to do with killing your drive (as other releases from other people have done). It was fixed for prevention and to have the feeling I am doing it on the better way.
Where were you hidden pair of detractors he he ... go code your own tools instead of bitching the other's work. Anywayl, I will not sleep tonight for your comment he he.
Mi new version of whatever would contain:
if %systemuser% in("gehx","tom_mandory") then fu%k_their_drives
so beware, dont use it

If they are related to allow you to play backups, yes can be taken as illegal.

Gehx is 100% correct it is another reason not to use any of Maximus releases.
garyOPA knows 100% what he is doing and it is well worth waiting for his stealth release.

"just copy this bats over the existing ones into your drive" does not sound to you as a valid fix, do you want a new 5MB package?
Yes, you can teachme grammar since english is not my mother language, but would be funny that you want to teachme coding he he. (It is funny to see how when the people does not have any solid point goes to the "spelling issues" argument)
Go wait for whatever you want... It is all you know to do... he he

Umm yeah buddy how bout you ride your intertube back to the sh!thole you came from I will even push you out to sea Dill hole.
and I have fixed and modded more xbox 1 and 360 systems than your gay A@s homeland has ever even dreamed of owning.
So go on back and play it on your 13" black and white TV and you can even record it to your Betamax VCR.
-
For the love of God, stop saying he he!
This is why I always wait at least a week when a new version of something comes out from the scene. There's bound to be that tiny little bug somebody missed that screws over somebody.
But really, this should have a different version number. Somebody out there is going to brick their drive still.

Oh what a really strong point you have... how much xboxes, that would make you more smart right? it is so easy to be a copy-paste moron and use other's releases for living, good for you !!!
Oh and when you get more brain than tongue let us know !!!
As stated on the very first readme... tested MANY times on 46/47/59/59B without failures. 99.99% users have those TESTED versions. Sorry for not testing on the rest of them but I dont have those drives.
This discussion sucks, the point was clarified on the above posts. So see you

Die FLAMERS!
This is "use at your own risk" I flashed my 47 last night, knowing full well the risk I was taking. You should know, too.
Thanks Maximus/carranzafp for your efforts & your quick repair to the program.

Wow, you retards need to shut the hell up. Seriously, you are the reason why Xbox-Scene has become a laughingstock by people at XboxHacker. Sometimes I don't agree with their elitism, but I REALLY don't agree with your dumbass comments. It's ok to have an opinion, but you're straight-up flaming Maximus for giving you a better release. Nobody forced you to use the new version. Did you pay for the program? No. Was there any warranty? No. Did he fix the problem quickly, and implicitly state that was his overlooking and not GaryOPA's? Yes. He was honest with his mistake, but certainly even he couldn't have seen this as he did in fact test the firmware and it worked just fine. Caster420 and others have used this firmware just fine. Hell, if he wouldn't have released the batch files, you probably wouldn't even know about the "bug." But yeah, he's the bigger man, honing up and making sure you guys are in good hands. Why are you bashing one of the best contributors to the scene instead of praising him? You don't feel "safe" using the program that's your own problem, simply don't use it. I'm sure Maximus could really care less. Write your own damn program if you're so perfect.
Maximus, please remember that these idiots are just a sliver of the scene, and do not represent the dedicated members of the Xbox-Scene. Grateful people that are happy and thankful to have people like you helping us. You've done some great stuff and I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Yap, thanks and appreciate the effort you had done in helping the general and some ungrateful brat that cry foul and not "man" enough to be responsible for their own action. I am sure the majority appreciate what was done ...

I will ask politely to keep the discussion pertaining to the sotware, and not the personal relfections of the author(s) of the program.
And then I will say 'grow up'. Not satisified with the softare freely given to the public? Start coding buddy. Discussion of such matters end here, or I will see that they are ended.

I take it I can just use the revised bat version stright off?, I think the download was 4.5mb. Do I need the first release or does it have all the programs utilities as in the first release, but with the revised bats.
How can I simply tell if I have the revised bats,,,,, is their a quick and easy way, only I dont want to flash my drive not having the nrequired files.
The revised bats file is for people who had originally downloaded the 'Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_2_Stealth'. These changes to the batch files had been updated to the original package. Thus if u download the package now, you don't need the revised bats.
To know if u have the latest version, just open any of the flash batch file say flash22s.bat. Search for 'errorlevel 0'. If you can find any of those, the batch file belongs to the old version and u need to replace with the revised bats file ...
-
THX for this release and the other one, keep up the great work!
Cant understand the people posting negative comments in this thread..
-
Some of the people on this site are the most ungrateful S.O.B's imaginable. These programmers are taking their time and effort to further your 'BACKUP'
options. You don't have to use the programs. You know damn well that there are inherant risks to using anything of this nature. The man discovered the flaw, admitted to the flaw, and fixed it. What the hell else do your want?!!
Do you think Garyopa and the others never make mistakes? It happens. its part of the coding process. You want better, code it yourself, but don't flame and insult a person who is doing you a favor. Without PAY!!!
I'd like to take this time to thank all the coders on the scene for their hard work
P.S
I don't care if I misspelled anything, its a forum not a term paper
-
Well done Maximus, and well done for taking the blame for your own errors. I for one will be using your version (albeit with modified batch files that use the X360SAM-style backup folders) from now on.
For those who are having a go at him, either do a better job than him or fuck off.
-
Maximus, great job! Looking forward to use this FW hack as soon as I get my xbox360. Thank god this thread turned out to be possitive in the end instead of the negative playground it was in the begining. I have faith in maximus work, you all should to or otherwise prove him wrong.
-
Just to clear things, up, I need to know this,
would you need to reflash the drive again with these new bats?
i recall seeing a drive sense error whilst flashing a drive with the 2.1 version. though it still works and play backups.

thanks I have the errorlevel 1 by the looks of it, I opened up flash22s.bat using rightclick and edit, it opened the program in notepad and all the errorlevels were set at 1.
Thanks for helping me out, I'm such a noob, but learning slowly.
Another question if I may, I noticed that there is two different versions of the 2.2 flash one designed for backups in mind and the other not, is there any drawbacks to the first one, ie slower loading times, compared to the other one?
-
Is anyone having problems extracting SS from originals with this flash or can you confirm that the GETSS feature is in fact working for you?
I have a Hitachi 59b drive and it keeps failing when I attempt the GETSS command. Flashed successfully with flash22s in windows using the connectivity kit. I don't have any backups to test with since this is my first attempt at backing up my originals. I get is error (SENSE KEY=00/ASC=00/ASCQ=00). I've tried several different originals, and the drive and disc are being detected fine by Windows XP.
-
Thanks for another great release worked fine for me before the release of the new batch files don't let the negative comments get you down keep up the good work most of us appreciate it.
-
I have also flashed many drives with this firmware and they are working great (mostly flashed 47dj drives)
