I can rip a game just fine, but I can't play one. Halo 2 for example which does work on my XBOX1 will not load.

You are correct, I did not see that in any tuts.
My main quest was to find out the solution to what seems to be a bigger problem, look at my other posts and you will see where the frustration lies. Trying the XBOX game was just a quick try somethng else...
I have also tried Dead Rising, on Riteck Dl media, to no avail.
I just don't know how to use the process of elimination to see what is really going on here.

If it doesn't work, you ballsed up the flash. If it does work, you've either not flashed it at all, you've flashed ORIG.BIN back again, or it's done.
I use a very simple method of testing. Flash drive, test with original, if that works, test with a backup (burned on Verbatim DVD+R DL using a Pioneer 110D), if that works, all is well.

Which came first the flash or the backup? The flash. So make a backup and try it. It's really not that hard.
If one simply flashed their drive, and burned the Dead Rising release, one still needs to patch it somehow? If so, I misunderstood something.

First of all, you just broke the most important rule of XS, no talk of piracy. Like I said and others have said, try a fecking original X360 game or an original Xbox game that is on the BC list. If they work, then at least you didnt botch the drive with a bad firmware flash. Hell, worst case here would be that you reflashed the drive with its original firmware.
Like someone else said, open both the original firmware file and the modified one in a hex editor and check for differences.................................Why do i get this feeling you used one of the auto flashing programs and probably have no clue what I'm talking about now????????

I used a hex editor in Windows that had a GUI thank you. I also understand how to read the tutorials posted everywhere on how to do this and how to take the advice from other forum members that state to do it manually as that is the safest way. It has nothing to do with, as you say, being leet or any of that other childish hacker wannabe crap. It has to do with comprehension.
You have also already made it perfectly clear in this thread that you think post count makes a difference in anything...............so..............sorry my XS wang isnt as large as yours. Grow up...........

Doesnt look like you said you were trying to back up your original copy. Backing up your own original game has nothing to do with burning the Dead Rising release, now does it? Besides, how did you manage to get an image to burn it without backing it up with the modified firmware(thus proving you did a proper flash)? I really want to read the bullshit excuse you will come up with at this point..........
