ide to sata adpaters do not work . Sorry to give you bad news. PCI Sata adapters do not work either.
Your only hope might be Probutus's Slax live cd. But I give it a 5% chance at best
There have been 2 PCI cards that have been confirmed working. The VIA 6421 chipset will work (with edited mktflash) and has been confirmed by 2 people. The Highpoint Rocketraid 1520 and 1640 has also been confirmed working. I've just recieved my Highpoint 1520 today and will get a chance to test it in a few more hours. Also if I remember the Highpoint doesn't recongnize the drive in windows (for copying discs, not flashing). So since I have this one, I might have to get another cheap PCI card. (the guy who said that about the Highpoint controller said he used another PCI card to get the drive recognized in windows).
Hope that helps some. Can't wait to get home and finally be able to flash my drive after the past few days of it not even being recognized.

it wont do the job for you...save your cash and get a new motherboard with a compatible sata chipset.
