Ok, I'm getting worried.  Take a break man, seriously, your brain is gonna explode.  Accept donations or something. I'm starting to feel bad using the emus you've ported, everyone is playing them, while you're living in the world of functions and classes on constant basis.

Thanks for all the updates X-Port we really appreciate it (We do!).

I have a small Technical question. It might sound stoopid, so if it does, please all dont flame me smile.gif

I think there is an emulated bit in an Amiga register(s) in the DENISE, Super DENISE or LISA chips which control 50Hz / 60Hz selection (bit 5 in the BEAMCON0 register)? Is it not possible to change modes based on the status of this bit?

I sort of understand that it might be ugly...changing refresh rates on the fly, directX, M$oft etc. dont seem to go hand in hand...

Just a thought... dont everyone kill me wink.gif

Just one question I have but about all emulators: Did hardware filters like bilinear, trilinear and anisotropic filters tax the emulation someway? Or it doesn`t  affect performance at all? ph34r.gif

Wowowow !! biggrin.gif

Can't wait to test this tonight ! biggrin.gif

This is the last thing I was expecting from WinuaeX to classify it into the "Absolute Perfection" category. I'll give you my feedback tonight after some tests wink.gif

Thank you again Xport !!  love.gif

Keyboard works perfectly now, thank you very much, indeed! smile.gif.

What's left to improve in the emu?. Only playing MP3/WAV files with ISO CD32 tracks, I think.

You know us, we allways want more! wink.gif

alexh - I believe what you're referring to is the ability to switch into true NTSC mode - which affects all sorts of other internal timings and will crash lots of games that were designed to run at PAL clock timings.  PAL and NTSC modes were both available in the previous version of WinUAEX.  The new mode, PAL60, maintains the correct PAL timings, but allows the emulation to run faster (60fps instead of 50fps) so that people who are viewing on NTSC TVs (or PAL60 TVs) can see smooth scrolling graphics.

Hardware filters have very little impact on performance.

Nah, I am not interested in switching to REAL NTSC mode I am a UK user which means PAL, PAL PAL.

I was asking if WinUAEX could switch between PAL50 and PAL60 on the fly based on a value of a bit in an emulated AMIGA register?

E.G. If there is an option in an Amiga game to switch between 50Hz and 60Hz does WinUAE-X switch? Or does it stay at whatever refresh rate it was started in? If it's the latter, can it be changed?

Yup I think I understand. If you are running a 50Hz Amiga game or Demo but the X-box is in 60Hz mode (NTSC or PAL60).... instead of repeating frames WinUAE-X now increases the speed of the emulator and scrollers remain smooth?

Ah, my bad. I've not tried since V4.

What I was asking was : If the emulated Amiga is running a 50Hz Amiga game or Demo, WinUAEX uses PAL50 and if the emulated Amiga is running a 60Hz Amiga game or Demo then WinUAEX uses PAL60. If the emulated Amiga switches between 50 & 60Hz, WinUAEX switches between PAL50 and PAL60 on the fly

Cracking work mate... still cant get over how much free time you have.

The PAL60 option is working fine : no more jerky scrollings on 60hz displays. Great work!

(the emulation is sped up, as expected)

Thanks Xport! smile.gif

some thing not only for winuaex is when i access the ingame menu with the 2nd controller i can“t controll the option with it, like configuring my keymaps for the 2nd controller, i always have to use the 1st one to set the settings.
Its a bit uneasy when playing together.

please think about adding UI support for all controllers.

thx

Great Emu!

I'm wonder is there a way to get games like the sierra's space quest or larry games to load faster screen to screen?
Right now I pull the right trig to throttle the game during disk accessing, but it would be a nice option if the emulator auto throttled during disk loading for certain games like adventure games.

Also does keeping the adf files in a zip file slow down the game any noticeable amount? I didn't try running the game with the adf files Not zipped.

Thanks

I know this was brought up in a much earlier thread, but it never seemed to materialize.  Is there still no plan for CAPS support?  I know Xport said the CAPS team needed to update some of their code, but when I offered to help them with some of their requests they never got back to me.

So... Is CAPS still a nogo atm?

Finally, I just have to say Xport, your work is greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I've missed this in the config but would it be possible to add a default configuration for controller in the per-game config options?  So, at the moment, I can select defaults for CD32 and the config would automatically map the correct buttons to the Xbox joypad rather than having to do it manually.

Maybe there would be the option to knock out the "Emulation" functions from this sheet -  because didn't the CD32 pad have shoulder buttons?  Sorry - I can't remember.

WinUAEX is really great work by the way.

Cheers, Sem.

I also like a feature like that...because basicly it's a hell of a job to config those controls and buttons all the time.
Maybe a option to select the jostick-mouse- cd32 joypad.
And the cd32 joypad had shoulder buttons rolleyes.gif

Dear Xport,

I have been reading these forums for ages, (Long time listener first time caller) and I got off my arse purely to register to tell you how awesome your work is.

Narry a day goes by that I don't fire up the old "interactive moving picture box" and play one of your emulator ports and be completely and utterly satisfied.

I commend you sir, for your stellar efforts even under the scrutiny and nitpicking of a bottomless pit of whingers. (Generally a small slice of the population here, No one particular in mind)

If Oliver Twist came to this forum, he may well be heard to remark under his breath "Holy ^$&%  guys, even I had my limits, you still want some more?"

He might also die of shock, given that he was a 19th century street urchin and such emulator finery would snap his grasp of reality and frazzle his "inner noggin".

Keep up the good work.

Xport (or anyone else who's experienced this)...

I'm having trouble with WinUAEx.  Basically, the first version I tried was V2, which worked (and still does work) perfectly.  However, I seem unable to upgrade, I've tried v5 and v7 and although I'm copying ALL the files across from the download it simply hangs before the menu screen comes on, requiring a reboot.

I've got a 1.0 Xbox, and a 1st generation chip, so I've patched the XBE with DexBE (the XBE actually works, it just stops before the skin kicks in).  I've tried searching E for all the ini and config files v2 might have dropped, but still any newer version refuses to load.  I've tried PAL/NTSC/50/60 and still nothing.  I've never had any problems updating any of your other emulators, either...

Just wondered if you had any ideas where to start...

Thanks!

Just delete the entire folder and then transfer the latest version over.
That should fix your problem if anything will.

I had a similar problem in avalaunch when an mp3 became corrupted.

Just a quick question: Does Winuaex support USB Joysticks? Because I bought yesterday 2 of these:

The LEGENDARY Competition Pro is back. It has a USB-Connector. Here is the link to the manufacturers hompage. Bought it in germany for 14,99 Euros. Will it be possible to use those with a USB connection cable?
