Title: Lips Content On A Jtag Console
Post by: akula169 on January 13, 2010, 01:24:00 AM
Wondering if anyone else is tired of hearing their wife complain about having to switch discs many times a session because the song she wants to sing now is on the Lips Number One Hits disc instead of the original Lips disc?

I'd love to know if someone has looked into getting the content off either of the discs so all 80 disc-based songs can be played from a single disc (or NXE/GoD install).

Unfortunately, as someone with frequent interaction and physical contact with a female, you are a minority on this board.  You might want to look for threads on Rock Band song packs or the Forza 3 disc 2 install for help with your question.  They are more popular games and will probably have relevant information to your query.

Good luck.

Rock Band is easy, since they released the Content License for transfers.  They never did anything like that for Lips.

I'll look for Forza3 stuff - sounds like it could be similar - thanks for the tip.

I don't know how lips works, but the Forza 3 disc 2 just contained a con file (xbox live package) that installed to the harddrive so it was as simple as extracting the con file from the disc and putting it in the correctly named folder.

people on other sites have manipulated them to do what you want.  You have to change some lines in an xml and hex edit the directory to that of the other game.  Theyve also managed to take the Rockband 1 songs that DONT import with the liscence and released them.  People smarter than us wilkl figure it out soon for idiots like us.

Can u pm one of these "other" sites.

Specifically about the RB 1 songs that didn't initially export and how they imported them into RB2.

Thanks.

Update:

I figured out how to package the original Lips songs as DLC to be used in #1 Hits.

I'll update again when I have them all packaged up...

If you already have the DLC files, just take them to a PC and unlock them in YarisSwap.  All good.

This guy has a decent tutorial, its in swedish, but there's a translate link in the post:

I have 36 of the 40 done.  The other 4 don't have videos and I'm having a bit of trouble getting them to work.

They come in at about 2.5 gigs uncompressed.  I will try to get them Rar'd up and put somewhere.

Does everyone interested have a sky account? I think I'll put the torrent up there first.

I have posted it on sky

I have used them a lot over the years - about time I have something to contribute.  Plus, it is a private tracker.  I'm sure it'll filter out from there once some members have completed the download.

Did you download my files?

If so, use Le Fluffie to extract the contents of one of the DLC I packaged (that is on both US and UK versions) and look at the DLC.XML in there - and compare the values in there to the values in music3db.sqlite (or similar name, I forget) on your UK Lips disc.  You should see a pattern - and you should be able to easily replace the text to create an XML file for your the UK songs.

Oh - this assumes you've gotten as far as extracting all the files from the original Lips ISO.

If you need help packaging back up with Le Fluffie, let me know.

I think the Swedish dude's tutorial was on the money - the translated version of course.

This here's the only thread that deals with my lips issues, unfortunately I can't decipher if your problems were resolved, if someone made the dlc packaging, or if I need to do all the hard work.

I'll start at the beginning -
I have a Jtagged console, and four Lips games.
Only two of those games support my USB Mic.
Now, I need to get all the songs from Lip, Lips: Number one hits and Lips Party Classics working on my Lips: I love the 80s.
At first I thought it was as simple as putting it under \ls2\Levels and editing the MusicDb, but unfortunately it would seem it's not that easy (or is it? My SQL skills are limited and I don't know how to combine between two SQL databases).

Has anyone exported all the songs yet? Can I get the DLC.XML ?

One more question - I have about 8gb of DLC from FYK, and I have deleted several songs from within the console, after it was discovered by the game. Now , the game still sees it, but obviously can't play it.
How do I reset the game's song cache?

Thank you so much.

D.s.

Bump!
I am very interested in this thread.
From reading this post and tuts it seems you create the XML file for each song you want then package it up as a DLC package. At least that is what the tut describes. Has anyone actually tried packaging several songs into one DLC package and does this work?
Obviously some of you lot have already created your XML files. Any chance these can be uploaded saving the rest of the job?
thanks,

DAMN, STOP OPENING THREADS!
STOP BORING WITH LIPS!  grr.gif  grr.gif  grr.gif

Noone knows how to reverse engineer the code (exclude wma png and wmv files) of the karaoke part.

Are you so much skilled to do this?

Here noone knows howto do.

The only method to have custom songs is to use disney singit hsm3 as explained on many Threads BECAUSE is SINGSTAR renamed.

Topic is a bit old but I figured it out anyway.

it's quite simple to do;

You need;

JTAG'd console
Dashlaunch 2.25
Dashlaunch Diskswapper plugin
-I use freestyle dash 2.2 (not sure if it is important to the outcome)

On each Lips disc there is a file called LPS.XML located in one of the folders.  Open the file up in notepad to obtain the disc index number of each disc; it is near the top,
e.g.

<LPS_DISCINFO>
   <VERSION>
      <MAJOR>1</MAJOR>
      <MINOR>1</MINOR>
      <REVISION>1</REVISION>
   </VERSION>
   <ID>
      <TITLE_ID>0x4D530888</TITLE_ID>
      <DISC_INDEX>13</DISC_INDEX>

This disc index number is what you need to use in the discswapper multi.ini file.  Once you have them all you can then match them up with the corresponding path.

My MULTI.INI files looks like this;

[4d530888]
disk4 = Usb:\Games\Lips\
disk10 = Usb:\Games\Lips Number One Hits\
disk13 = Usb:\Games\Lips Party Classics\
disk17 = Usb:\Games\Lips I Love the 80's\

Different regioned discs may have different index numbers to mine.

after that just run it from Dashlaunch or xexmenu and your done. it works flawlessly.
