Could some one help please  I seem to be missng something i've tryed the  HD_DVD_10-2006 disk in my console a dozen times but it never rebooted and the Kernel is still 1888 all I have ever gotten was "please connect HD Player to my xbox" it just is not applying the update I even reburned the disk + dubble checked the  md5sum.
Would the files being burnt on CD-RW make a difference?

I've burnt mine the usual way. Standard ISO. Standard CD-R.

\default.xex (7 049 216 bytes)
\$SystemUpdate\su20076000_00000000 (6 488 064 bytes)

Maybe try without the .xex?
