| Finally, before running Surreal, update your bios. 4976 has problems with some emulators/homebrew. |
4976.02 was the most stable bios xecuter has ever released.
Say that again.
seedy: dont bother updating your bios, thats not the issue.
D:\roms is the correct path, and NOT the dvd-drive. When surreal is launched, surreal's home dir automatically mounts as D:\ , and your actual dvd-drive letter becomes A:\
There is only a few things that would give you a freeze/black screen. Is your time clock set? (to a 200x date?). Does your surreal.ini show D:\Media for its media path? Have you verified you have all the files (aka got the archive from xbins and put all the files there) ?
No you dont need roms for it to load, you should still be able to navigate the settings and about menu.
The surreal.ini only appears in your TDATA folder when you try to load a rom and says 'saving settings'. Just launching the program will not put the file there (i generally imply so in other threads, because 99% of people who get it to load also try to play a game the first time).
So delete your save from the MS dash, resend all the files from the archive you got from xbins, and dont touch the ini.
not needing to update my bios according to an xbscene guru = priceless!!!! :jester:
ok......i kind of did try stuff that you mention last night and still had no luck
haven't checked the time clock yet......is there only one that i need to worry about or is there one for the ms dash and one for evox?
thanks a ton iriez - your input on this subject is highly valued!
