Title: Anyone Get Banned Using Globe 360 Or Nme V2
Post by: alcatone on December 24, 2007, 02:54:00 AM
I have seen many debatable topics about people using the Globe 360 playing original games online. Does anyone have an answer to if the Globe360 can play originals online without getting banned? I do know that ANYTIME you mod the FW you run the risk of getting banned. But I would really like to know if the orginal FW playing an original game online witht the chip turned off really works or not? If this M$ can tell from the dashboard that the system has been modded, why even run the risk of soldering the chip in when you can just Flash the drive. I am wondering if the statements on Globe 360's and NME's sites are true. I have heard many people saying they have not been banned and I have also heard that people have been banned (but these statements are not from the actual people getting banned). Can anyone PLEASE claify if the FW MOD CHIPS works or not.
Because if playing originals only online is safe, I would like to purchase probably the Globe because you can easily change the FW on it and you don't have to burn the games the NME style.
Thank You very much for anyone who CAN ANSWER this argument.

Remember they wont ban you straight away, next update like the spring update they get there info sorted
im sure they download the latest firmware patch and buy the latest chip to test them against piracy
they will always catch up with onliners who use a copied game
personally being without live is a pain i wish id stayed clear of the nme 1.2

Where have you read that? I have an NME2 sitting here, but I'll just sell it and just flash my firmware if that's the case. I figured I would have better luck not getting banned if I used the nme.

i have been hearing this 'french guy' story sense the first day nme 2.0 came out, it mgiht have even been during the pre-order stage. but i do not believe this is a true story, all u ever hear is that it was a french guy with no name, who didnt have a copy in the drive, well i thought that u would only get banned when they do system updates, they wouldnt just ban him right away, isnt that true? i could be wrong there, but i think the french guy story is BS. not saying ur a lier but i just dont believe it. i have an nme 2.0 and i pre-ordered it and got it installed when it arrived and played many ours online with copys and originals and no problems at all. my friend is also playing online with a ixtreme firmware update and has had no problems yet playing online with copys or originals. i will end with saying that the french guy story is the only story i have heard about peple getting banned with nme 2.0 and it was when it frist came out and havnt heard anything else about it. anyone hear different?

I've been playing with my Globe 360 chip for a year now with no problems. But I always disconnect my lan cable when playing back ups, and use original games only when playing live. I've been playing Halo multi for months now without a problem. I've done multiple updates without a problem as well. I think people who are getting banned, are those playing back ups on line, or playing back ups while their unknowingly signed into Xbox live.
I too believe the french guy story is fake.

whether you use a firmware flash or a modchip, the chances of being banned are equal. i would even lean towards the modchip being easier to detect. hardware modifications are easy to detect. all electricity runs through it (even when the chip is off, it just gets routed a different way)
