Title: Nme 2.0 Not Working !
Post by: profxavier on November 22, 2007, 02:30:00 PM
I've got an XBOX 360 Arcade with HDMI Port and BenQ-Drive. I bought the NME 2.0 Chip and installed it properly!

But the Backups ain't working. They're burned the right way (tested them with a drive-modded xbox). Is there any trick othe than the 1sec-button-switch-thing for getting backups to work?

Plzzzzzz help me!!!

I know next to nothing on this matter but I was under the impression NME Backups are burned differently then standard backups you would burn for a firmware flashed drive. Something different so the chip would detect that the disc is a backup. (So they actually shouldn't work with a drive modded 360 if you tried) Might you be burning them wrong?

Yes...NME back-ups are burnt differently. Use this tool: http://www.nme2.com/dl/NME_aSSociat0r.rar and CONVERT your images. Also make sure you're following the burn with ImgBurn guide here: http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=516786. I installed my NME2.0 on my 360 Premium with HDMI and it works like a dream (though it took a while to install, some of those points are so small!). Good luck!

The problem is that a majority of people don't end up going this route...using an external modchip on the DVD drive when you can just flash with the appropriate SATA chipset and firmware.... so that's probably why it takes so long to get a response.  Look at the numbers..600 topics (3700 replies) on this section...while on the DVD-ROM and Modified DVD Firmware is at 12000 topics (70,000 replies).  That's where most of the traffic is....

if you have nme 2 and benq you must press the powerbutton in the console until the power indicator turns off. takes less than a second.

Make sure to use the nme associator to convert the backup. The chip does not recognize xtreme format

I thought NME V2 will recognise xtreme ISO's,  haven't got mine yet to try.

On a Benq with NME 2 you MUST press and hold the POWER button for 1 sec to turn the mod ON.  If you turn ont he console with the Eject button the mod is off.

Installed my NME with Benq drive. Works a charm.

Rip with Xbox backup creator v2.8
Converted with NME-360 Associator 0.3b
Burned with Imgburn v2.4.0.0

When converting make sure you select the .ISO. if you convert the .DVD it will fail. Because it messes the que sheet up.

Burn with Xbox backup creator selecting the Imgburn option.

Worked fine. I'd say your selecting the .dvd file. not the .iso
