Title: Xeno360
Post by: jvsjmedia.nl on May 04, 2007, 01:27:00 PM
Hello.

I received my XENO360 modchip since today, and I started installing it.
When I was done, I tried it out:

- Starting the Xbox360 by holding Eject for 5 a 6 seconds.
- Poweled flashed once to notify its turned on.
- Red led on XENO turned RED.

[Xbox360 + XENO360 booted - Succeeded]

- Putted in a original game. (PGR3).
Got message: "To play this disk, put it in an Xbox 360 console".
- Putted in a backup of PGR3.
Got message: "Unrecognized Disk" or "Open Tray".

[Play backup and original game - Fail]

How I burned the backup:

- Used IMGBURN.
- Verified that the image size became: 7.705.657.344 Bytes.
- Setting the security sector to: 1913760.
- Burn speed: 2.4x.
- Media used: Philips DVD+R DL 2.4x.
- Burner used: HP DVD Writer 630c.

What can be the problem?

Maybe your media is not good enough quality?  I use Verbatim brand DVD+R DL.

Are you using Schtrom 3.2 to extract the game?

Also, when the chip is on, an orignal game will not work, only backups.

If you are using a Hitachi drive (in your xbox 360) you will need to tweak the laser down to about 3.00

Thanks. Then this is not wrong.

Yes, a hitachi drive.
Then I will tweak the laser tomorrow.
Maybe that makes the difference.
However, if I don't tweak the laser, it will never work?
So it might be the laser which is causing non bootable media?

I would like to know more information on how you burned your game exactly.  Did you use Schtrom, or some other program to extract it to your computer?

And yes, pretty much it wont work without a laser tweak, and even if it does your backups will play slowly and skip a good bit.
