I was in the process of putting the board back into place when I heard a crack... and I crapped my pants when I saw that the small component which I believe is labeled "R407" came out and is now attatched to a hunk of solder and wire. Basically I cant put it back and I screwed my board! Im pretty much histerical at this point. Im not a noob to soldering either which is what sorta pisses me off... Didnt think this would kick my ass. What are all my options? New drive? New component? ANYTHING? any suggestions are helpful Im desparate. Thanks in advance. -Jesse
btw its by point 5 which connects to point "I" on the NME 1.2

I know you could change the drive.. there are some tutorials here and there.. I believe the samsung 162c would do.. about 60$ CAN or 40$ US on ebay, from germany most of the time.
But why can't you put that component back to its place?

Slow down friend, if it is the 470 coil, then you should be able to bridge the gap that the coil broke off of with solder, and it will work. The only problem is you probably will have to turn the Xbox 360 off and on when switching between backups and originals.
