Need some help after installing nme v1.2 in a hitachi dvd drive. after installing the chip ( without led and network feature) the tray from the dvd opens and close but nothing else happens (semms so, as no dvd is in the tray). i check, if there was no short and there was not. then i deinstalled the chip completely, but the dvd drive didnt turn. it behaves with a disk in it, if nothing is in it. the laser move. but no turning!!
So my question is, if i had bricked the original firmware or isnt it a firmware problem?? can i read out via sata the firmware( if its correct) from the dvd drive and flash it with extreme?

you've either wrecked the dvd board scraping away the epoxy or your cable's arent quiet in sync
have you made sure eveything is back together ok ??
did you test if pre chip install after you made you points clean and epoxy removed ?? or go straight ahead and install the chip ??

He Ricey! I haven`t scrap away the epoxy because its a hitachi47 and not a samsung!! now i have removed the chip and clean everything! but the dvd drive won`t turn any more. seems, the firmware isnt good.
So the next step is to read out the firmware with slax via sata and make a backup of the firmware in the chip and then, i tried to flash it with extreme or with the backup again!
does anybody seems, that this could work????
