do yourself a favor, get the 1.1 chip. only 5 wires, and no boot problems. i think nme should have left well enough alone and stayed with the 1.1

What???
why should i do this?
the 1.1 better than the 1.2?
Where i can get the 1.1 version?
Thanks

The blaster isnt a "chip"
Its a device to make it so you wouldnt have to open your 360 to flash the DVD drive again and no soldering needed.
A chip is actually installed and soldered in the DVD drive. Depending if your confident enough with your soldering skills, you can choose which way to go.
Personally I would choose neither way. Unless you like the way the blaster looks. You can open your 360 and flash the dvd drive for free and not have to pay $40-80 for some stupid addon like a chip or the blaster. you can also rig up something like the blaster, just would require some cutting of your metal shielding and it would be much cheaper.

I have installed NME 1.2 (First batch from modchipfitters) for 3 months now on my Hitachi 78DJ.
Works perfect ,all the time.

You install it with the coil 470? you got the chip and you installed him like how you got him?
No problems with DVDs or some else?

the reason i suggest the 1.1 is because it only has 5 wires to solder.

I agree for a newbie to soldering... get an NME1.1 or Xeno360(if you don't mind having to power up the Xbox via the eject button whenever u want to play a backup.)
If you get a 1.2, be prepared for a HARD install. read my guide for some tips that can help.
The 1.2s for Hitachi don't seem to suffer from the problems that Samsung drives do...

personally ive had one chipped Samsung with nme 1.2 and one hitachi flashed with xtreme firmware
id say the flashed box is actually more stable and plays both nme and xtreme game
so if you have the abilty to flash your box succesfully buy a 360 blaster and do it that way
lack of support from the chip supplier doesnt offer me confidence it seems if xbox scene wasnt here we would have loads of scrap chips kicking about
then again ive been playing online with nme succesfully so far so touch wood all is good !!
clitchies yes but the chip does work to be fair not as stable as flashing tho
good luck read up and just take your time with anything you do

Sorry for the delay to reply.
They didn`t have the 470coil on stock,(they send on later on order)but i used one with the same measurements from an old TV set. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Works great on backup and originals ,all the time ,Not one fail boot at all,
P.S I use Infinity 360 DL ,from the same site.

I only have a hard drive, so I don't have access to a sata port, so any suggestion for me to flash the drive? i was looking to getting the blaster and look for a sata to usb adapter. Will that work?

I have no soldering experience at all so I won't be looking into buying a chip for my 360 but I am just wondering, is it worth investing into something like the Blaster 360 at this point in time? I don't want to buy something like the Blaster 360 and void my warranty (I'm on my 5th xbox) if there will be a better solution in a few months from now with homebrew and a new product which is also $50 to buy. Would you reccomend waiting or purchasing the blaster 360 now?

anyone?

anyone?

Dude there is no way to tell what will be out in a week much less than 6 months.....It's just like any other electronic investment.....U either have to just jump in with both feet or do without............ with electronics something bigger and better is always gonna be out there in no time.........well.......Usually...not quite the same with regards to modding though................Just my opinion.
I would make sure I had a samsung drive......If I bought an xbox and it didnt have the samsung drive I would bring it back and exchange it until I got one that did have it........My NME 1.2 is fine....and I dont have much soldering experience.....Just read ydgmms's guide over and over and go very, very slow...later

With the NME chip I will still have to open up my 360 every time I want to backup one of my games, I think the blaster 360 with a custom DVD firmware would probably be more practical.
Why would you have to do that? I do my backups using my PC. Making the backup has nothing to do with the Xbox. You just need the chip installed to play the backup.

Don't you need to use the 360 DVD Dvice to backup the drives? I thought that was the idea of the Blaster 360, you don't have to keep opening up your 360 to connect the DVD drive to your PC.

no dude, you dont use the 360 drive to backup a game......I think your confusion is prob with the fact that you MAY have a samsung drive in your xbox....and you also need a samsung drive flashed with the kreon software to rip them.........these are 2 totally different drives......With the NME your xbox just needs to be opened once to do the install....after that you rip your games with a samsung drive you buy to put in you PC..........

Both are a waste of money

personally the chip in the sammy box is easy and reliable mine has been for 3-4 weeks no problems
blaster looks good but flashing can be problematic whatever you comfy with
