Hi folks,
last week I bought a Xbox360 manufactured in Aug 2006 with a NME360 v1.2 - modded by my vendor. Im not shure if i own a hitachi or a toshiba DVD. My friend also has a 360 of Jan 2006 with a toshiba DVD and a NME360 v1.0.
When he is playing backups his DVD isn't making so much noise as mine, because is backups are slowed down and mine are spinning at full speed. How can I turn my NME v1.2 to play my backups so quiet, too.
Has my vendor done something wrong when he soldered the chip, or isn't the v1.2 Version able to play backups at slow speed???
I'm getting deaf and insane with that noisy DVD - plz help me out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif) .
Thanks and have a nice day,
Marcus

Is nobody out there with a NME360 v1.2 who can tell me if his/her dvd is so loud, too??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/uhh.gif)

Ive got an nme 1.2 and a samsung drive and its not loud at all.
exept on starting up discs then its a little louder then original discs

No problems here - only thing loud is the damn fans - and I even replaced them with the "talismoon" fans. What a joke - no cooler to the touch and they're equally as loud. Annoying.
Samsung drive with NME 1.2 - and no - there is no way to slow down or quiet your drive using the NME chip.
Sorry

I will confirm this also just so you don't think your crazy but mine is also louder when playing backups (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
