I ordered the NME1.2 last week on Thursday.  It stated it would be in today (Monday).  Today I log in and it shows Thursday.  What's a few more days? No biggy.  As long as it doesn't turn into one delay after another.

I just bought my 1st xbox 360 and it has the Samsung drive according the diagram of the tray.  I weighed the options and said hmmm - no screwin up the drive, plays everything I need it to, and it's a 4 wire install.   Yeah - sold.

I'll let you all know how it turns out when I get it.

I ordered that Samsung DVD ROM drive for my home computer as well.  That was a pricey little drive.  Could NOT find it anywhere cheaper then Ebay.  Unfortunately.  I think it cost me 55.00 shipped.

Oh well - I'll report back here once I receive everything, do the install, and run a successful backup.

If anyone getting the 1.2 chip has the Pioneer-111 burner, please report if they fixed the issues with media burned using that drive.

Thanks.

im thinking about ordering a nme 1.2...

will i be able to use my backup discs to play on xbox live? or will have i have to use the originals? I realize the original disc is preferred...but for mysituation it would be much easier if i could use my backup. please let me know.

I have a NME v1.1.  I played my backups online without issues.   That may change in the future.

my nme 1.0 has been real good (local mod chip guy reckons he's had 90% failure rate!)
I would have flashed but i was too impatient with more money than sense

this off the teamunderdog site, kinda interesting:

We want to give all the other teams BIG thanx for giving us credit for our Security sector offset, we always said it was the cleanest and most sophisticated way. Also you people that cloned our chip you believed in us. Thanks!

Here is what Teamxecuter say:

The only good (sorry GREAT) thing NME have ever come up with is the new SS patching which is virtually undetectable by m$ - i applaud them for that - i do not know why its not been used by the xtreme guys for their firmwares - its much simpler plus the xtreme method of SS is quite detectable (especially if used in
a patchmod). it really is the very best way to boot your modded burns - very undetectable and much cleaner.

Here is what Xeno360 Team say:

We would like to extend our regards to the people who came up with the ingenious NME security sector. Due to its location (address) only one line on the data bus has to be patched, and on the Samsung drive only one more connection is required to detect if the game inserted is original or copy.

Good luck angrykid! can't wait for your verdict on the 1.2. As soon as you give the green light, I am buying one right away for my hitachi 78f'r.

It will be helpful if anybody could post the wiring instructions for the hitachi because the folks at nme still haven't updated theirs from v1.1. I am still fairly new at soldering and I still can't completely figure out the one-diagram instructions posted on the nme website for the previous nme chips. Is there any resource which might spell out the steps verbally for making the 11 connections between the nme chip and the hitachi drives? Thanks a lot.

Good luck again, angrykid...

all the 78k drives have black epoxy on the chips

under them and on most of the area surronding the firmware chip

i reckon i might have to get a bit of it off to install the nme 1.2

unless they found other points on the board?

I might pull the trigger on the 1.2 as well. It seems to be a good solution for those of us wanting to just play the backups. Plus, with a Sammy, it's only a four wire install.

I'm jus wondering if the NME 1.2 Mod Chip will play games from any region? Or does anything else make ur xbox 360 play games from any region?

I went to NME Underdog's site abit ago, and seen that the 1.2 was for sale (finally), I was going to make a thread on it...until I had seen that is was done...over a week ago. lol

anywho, does any one have the 1.2 yet? does it work?

I went to their site, and I think they need to fire the guy making those diagrams...I mean come on!  they spend nearly 2 months designing and building it, and you spend 2 minutes making a pretty poor diagram. (boooo)

And they dont even mention the black epoxy...and by the look of it, you have to remove a good portion of it to be able to get to some solder points.

BTW, where did you guys purchase it from?  di you use "foundmy.com".....I've never used them before, just wondering if they were reliable.

YEAH I KNOW... THEY ARE ALL GONEEE!!!! THAT BLOWS!!!
oh well, i cant say if they are reliable for sure.. but they are somewhat recommended by team underdog cuz they have a link to that online store on their website. i wanted to buy it and then when i came back the next day.. they were all gone. lmfao!!!

as far as the diagrams.. they SUCK. yes sir, thank you sir...
no instructions no "words" no recommendations, tips, or suggestions...  pretty lame. considering that they manufactured the chip... i expect some kind of better support. I emailed them about it.. but the just answered "the instructions are posted on the website"... so what about the new phillips drive??? blink.gif  unsure.gif

next, the region. this chip does NOT take care of the region for you.. you can only play same region or region-free games. so i guess we can expect that for the next version... or maybe a patch for the current one  biggrin.gif.

but bottomline.. it seems to be the best chip yet released... i'll stick with it for now.. and create some better intructions for all of us. thnx

Murc,

I ordered my NME360 and because I am in Canada...I did COD. That way I can't get screwed on the pre-order commitment. Also, Foundmy.com is the cheapest from what I have seen.

You will notice that the other recommended seller which is located in Canada does not refund on Pre-Orders and they are $15.00 more expensive.

Good luck and grab them while they are hot. I think he will sell out really quick. People have been waiting for a chip like this in a long time. And I think that Team-Underdog has proved to be a developer that produces results...Unlike Fractal360.

Good luck
