I don't really understand your pic but isn't the firmware chip in new xboxes now covered in a big blob of epoxy?.

the theory behind this chip is plug and play... no wires. yes the new ones have a blob... but there are also LOADS of 360s that DONT have the blob. I am also sure MS will put blobs on other chips if exploits and whatnot are found.

Ok I see what you mean now. Thats not such a bad idea. I see what you're saying about future exploits but MS might not bother with blobs on other newer versions of xbox. Eg, like with the first version of the xbox 1 the LPC ports were filled with solder but all future versions were left empty. I think its strange they didn't just do the same thing and stick a blob of epoxy over the LPC port??. It would probably have stopped alot of people modding their xboxs since without it its almost like a mod chip port. With things like solderless adapters on the market making it so easy to fit a chip with no skills.
At the moment I wouldn't go near installing a firmware hack chip. It seems like too much risk and hastle just to play copied games on expensive dual layer dvds!. In saying that I don't even own a 360  tongue.gif .

Yeah the firmware hack isnt really shit... I personally can not wait for homebrew. I cant wait to run XBMC in high def from the getgo without having to do some extensive modding. For example the memory add on mod for xbox1 which allowed XBMC to run in hi def
