I live in China (I teach English here) and I was down buying some stuff for my original XBox at a place I've been going for a while. They had a 360 there, and were saying that they had a Mod Chip that they could install next week - they showed me a gaming magazine (in Chinese, so I couldn't read it) apparently talking about how a Chinese group had already produced a mod chip.
Anyone know anything about far-eastern mod development and if this could be true? Since I would be buying a Chinese or Japanese console, it's vital for me to be able to play multiregion discs...as I can't speak Japanese at all, and can only speak Chinese barely...making my preferred type of game (RPGs) somewhat hard to play...although I was almost tempted to buy it anyway since it's a little cheaper than the cost of the same unit back home.

If there was a mod in JPN or China Lik-Sang.com would have it to pre order or at leat in the news section.
